Not only do they offer a long list of services, but they offer access to multidisciplinary treatment teams that consist of psychiatrists, recreational therapists, and addiction specialists to name a few. The University of Iowa offers mindfulness training, wellness programs, individual therapy, group therapy, relapse prevention, coping skill development, and referrals to inpatient drug and alcohol facilities if the client requires more intensive care. Clients may also be able to participate in electroconvulsive therapy or other forms of neurostimulation if their clinician determines that it is safe to do so. The University of Iowa bills clients like a hospital would and accepts forms of self-pay, insurance, Medicare, and may provide access to payment assistance programs.

I had robotic surgery and radiation treatment at UIHC. Staff and physicians were excellent. I drive 100 miles to Iowa City and am happy I'm just 90 minutes away.

Exceptional medical care, tertiary care is beyond exceptional. As a nurse, I know a bit about what I'm talking about, having been a part of all the hospital systems in the area. Even short staffed due to covid and the people who refuse to listen to providers until it's too late, they are working harder and making sure with less and less.
