How We Treat Addiction

Blue Hills Recovery treats addiction through a comprehensive and personalized approach that integrates several therapeutic strategies. Initially, they conduct thorough assessments of each individual to tailor a specific treatment plan. Their methodology includes a mix of individual, group, and family therapy aimed at addressing the psychological aspects of addiction. They also offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to help manage withdrawal symptoms and reduce cravings, supporting the overall recovery process. Additionally, Blue Hills Recovery incorporates holistic treatments such as yoga and meditation, focusing on healing the whole person. They also provide life skills training to help individuals build a stable and productive life, which is crucial in reducing the chances of relapse. Aftercare planning is a significant component of their program, ensuring that individuals have ongoing support and resources for continued therapy and support groups to help maintain sobriety. This integrated approach focuses on both the physical and psychological aspects of recovery.

Leading Partial Hospitalization Program

Blue Hills Recovery's program is Massachusetts's #1 mental health partial hospitalization program. One of their primary objectives is to help clients move towards self-love and leave shame behind. Mental illness is one of the few health problems that can, unfortunately, have a certain degree of shame associated with it. Their therapists treat depression, anxiety, PTSD, trauma, and more. Blue Hills Recovery knows that your time is valuable, and they only have a limited amount of it to work with patients. Everything they do is targeted at healing clients and empowering them with new understanding so that they may better manage their conditions moving forward. The center employs evidence-based treatment as part of the Harmony Healing Group family of treatment programs. This means they rely upon methods that have been proven effective under peer-reviewed scientific research. The staff believes that self-knowledge and an understanding of your diagnosis is an essential part of recovery.

Education through Therapy

If you decide to attend Blue Hills Recovery, you will have wellness education services available. You may want to know more about what you will learn or practice during these sessions. Some of the top practices to learn about during the wellness education sessions include top nutritional recommendations, how exercise and quality sleep impact recovery, the benefits of routines and structure in recovery, how expressing yourself through art can help you overcome addiction or work through mental health symptoms and alternative treatments such as meditation and yoga.

Family Focused

Family is important. Blue Hills Recovery Center sees many people who don’t have family support, but they do have some friends who want to see them achieve greatness and do well in their lives. The truth is that family can be anyone who supports you and wants the best for you. Whether you have parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, or friends who have your best interests at heart, that is great all around. One of the things Blue Hills Recovery believes is helping anyone who struggles with addiction or mental health disorders is family counseling. It can help everyone to reconnect, make amends, and build healthier relationships.

I am absolutely thrilled to share my experience with Blue Hills Recovery, where my daughter received treatment for substance abuse. From the moment we stepped through their doors, we were met with unparalleled professionalism and care. The medical detox provided a safe and comfortable environment for her transition, and the outpatient Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) was nothing short of transformative. The level of communication from the staff and leadership was truly remarkable. They not...

Blue Hills Recovery Center went thru a lot of personnel changes in a short time. I can say if it weren’t for my case manager Michelle Misciocci I don’t know where i would be. She gets 10 stars!! She helped me with access to so many key pieces needed in my program!! Also facilitator Rayne is amazing at leading groups that can be somewhat cumbersome. Lead Tech Will works tremendously hard at making sure the clients needs are met. Tech Ryan R and Nikki at housing does an amazing job at keeping c...

Genuinely shocked that this place has yet to be shut down. To preface, admissions completely lied on the phone about housing, meals, insurance, sessions, phone calls; basically everything. I paid out-of-pocket because this is one of the only PHPs in MA with housing. The pictures of housing online are not legit!!! And there is no actual separation between genders. During my stay at housing in August 2023, there were multiple room searches and house meetings that targeted and punished the entir...

I can’t begin to express my gratitude for this program. The facilitators (Kelly and Rayne) are gold. They truly understand and make their groups safe places for everyone to start or continue on the healing journey whenever they are along the road. Also, the techs, case managers, and therapists at Blue Hills really made me feel heard and helped me throughout my time there. I have nothing but good things to say. If anyone is contemplating getting help for mental health or substance use, I highl...

I was here back in April when staff and clients were not getting along, it was hard to express your concerns, as they didn't care to fix them. Now, being here in October - 6 months later, the ENTIRE staff has changed, it's much easier to approach clinical staff and know you're being heard, they go above and beyond to help us. The BHT supervisor, Willie does everything possible to make sure that the clients are comfortable, happy and doing good, all of the BHT staff members are much easier to ...

Overall poorly run dysfunctional facility. Case managers don’t care about their job, and refuse to meet with clients. Groups are not conducive to mental health. Simply a waste of time to collect money from your insurance. Staff does not care about their jobs and will talk down to clients. At least half of the staff has left or has put in their 2 week notice. Extremely understaffed, unproductive, and unprofessional. No psychiatrist in this facility either, just a nurse practitioner. There is n...

My experience at Blue Hills recovery was exceptional. Coming into Blue Hills I was not doing well, but the community uplifted me and with proper care from Nurse Practitioners, Group facilitators, and Case Managers I was able to make great progress with my mental health. Specifically group facilitator Kelly was amazing and case manager Montana was also great. I highly recommend Blue hills, I was able to become a better version of myself in just 3 months time.
