TROSA is able to offer long-term inpatient treatment while also offering supportive housing, food, clothing, and other personal care items regardless of the individual’s ability to pay. Not only is this program increasing access to necessary services, but they are participating in the community in a way that not many rehab facilities do. The goal is to provide a safe, healing living environment where men and women can develop skills and acquire the assistance they may need to get back on their feet and learn to live a life that is successful and supports long-term sobriety.

If you want to get your life straight... This place works but it all boils down to the individual person. I successfully completed the program , that is me in the back left wearing pink tie.The best way to sum this place up is- You do it!

TROSA is a multi-year residential treatment facility located in Durham. My experience at Trosa was much needed. The program is what you make of it. They have rules in place to change the way you live and react to day to day circumstances. I was able to graduate the program after the 2 year completion and stay on as a Senior Resident and continue to gain valuable life skills needed to function sobely in the community outside of Trosa. Once I decided to transition back to the community I was a...

Natalie Watkins, Trosa changed my life for the better. I was a mess, I was never homeless or jobless in my term I was a functioning addict. To me I was perfect; once I got accepted into Trosa, wow that experience was one of the best things I could have ever done. It taught me how to respect others and to cherish the small things in life. Trosa is an amazing organization, there you have the tools to open any door to a better you, life, it teaches you how to build beautiful relati...

I have always heard the food could and should be better. There are better ingredients held back that are definitely earned and could/should be enjoyed by all. I know for a fact when the people have happy stomachs they'll just about work hard at anything. Get one of those big time culinary chef's come in and with the interested residents in culinary, turn the food and kitchen around. Other than that, TROSA and my son's hard work saved his life years ago. He needs the program again, I hope he...

We could not be more pleased with TROSA services. We have used them on several occasions for moving over the years and have been using them for landscaping maintenance for years. Very competent, dependable and polite. And affordable. Their catering service, headed by Willie Lane, has saved the day for the food component of Durham Public Schools Project Graduation that I have been involved in. They came in when we were having trouble getting donations from restaurants during the economy downto...

Don't you dare believe a negative thing that you hear about TROSA. They were here for me when I needed them in 2007 and they are still here for me today 15 years later because I didn't come here to try to change TROSA, I came here for TROSA to allow "ME" the opportunity to change "ME". Because of the care and support that I have received from TROSA and continue to receive till this very day I am celebrating my 15th year of success in recovery; and there are hundreds more stories just like min...

Well, we really wanted to love this program. Our son was admitted for 2 weeks. Over the 4th of July holiday, he apparently needed a Psych Evaluation. When he got back to the facility, he was told he was being “discharged”, and they literally put him on a bus to travel 400 miles back home. His Dad was there at admittance, was told all necessary releases had been signed by our son to allow communication. Yesterday, when Trosa finally called us back, after about a dozen messages left, we were to...

TROSA is easily the most remarkable organization of it's kind. Specializing in the rehabilitation of substance abusers, I was able to completely abandon the destructive path I was on and build a new life by taking advantage of the free counseling, housing, medical/dental care, and leadership training. Through their discipline structure and peer-to-peer relationship model, I was able to learn from those who achieved success before me and apply that knowledge to improve myself. In regards to th...
