All of these people had a common goal, however, and that was to provide supportive services for individuals in Illinois who need more specific and effective programs that address substance abuse directly. Services provided through treatment at The South Suburban Council include gender-specific therapy, job placement, domestic violence counseling, CBT, trauma recovery and empowerment, medication management, and 12-step programs. A combination of these services allows for both substance abuse and mental illnesses to be addressed concurrently, providing the most successful and effective plan possible.
