My teen was admitted there for a week and 2 days. This is his review of the clinic.
At first I felt uncomfortable, the staff was rude. I had restless nights, the beds were hard, the showers were dirty seems like know one cleans it. I had 1 call a day to speak to my parents, the way the staff treat the kids are horrible. One good thing was the food, even thought my first day the chicken look uncooked and had blood. The rest of the meals were pretty good, we had 3 meals plus 2-3 snacks per day....

Overall the stay was ok and I am glad I am out of there.
As a mom I can say having my son not call me until late on the day was not ok for me. The staff were dry, and the facility lacks communication with parents or guardians.

The Horsham Outpatient Program gave me a sense of calm. The psychiatrist changed my life by helping me with medication management. The therapists gave me tough love, and I was held accountable for my actions. I learned how to take responsibility through the group therapy. Finally, I had much needed support and felt safe to express my feelings. I was also able to navigate my feelings, and incorporate yoga as part of mindfulness. To this day, I take my experiences with me as part of self-love.

This place was amazing! All staff were friendly, kind, caring and respectful. They offer groups such as music and art therapy that are important to attend. My units patients and staff were awesome. Great place to contact if you our anyone you know needs help. My life could have been so much better if I got here sooner. I am no longer a prisoner to my mental illness. Oh yeah, they have great food at the manor house! Can’t say enough about how life changing my stay was.

Overwhelmingly disappointed with the services my nephew received here. As a timeline...my nephew attempted in mid-February and was transferred to the inpatient adolescent unit for 2 1/2 weeks...the care he got at this initial inpatient was great, mostly because Dr. Chou (sp?) was a rockstar. He was compassionate and knowledgeable. Other than him, however, my nephew felt the groups were boring and did not help him at all...the social worker did not assist at all with setting up aftercare......

He was compassionate and knowledgeable. Other than him, however, my nephew felt the groups were boring and did not help him at all...the social worker did not assist at all with setting up aftercare...and when my nephew was transferred to Partial Program for 2 1/2 weeks it only go worse...his social worker dropped the ball completely. Did not contact the family to let us know what was going on with aftercare, nor did she even call to let us know he was being discharged (my nephew just stopped being picked up by the van????)...his aftercare was not set up and my sister had to call to get him outpatient...he attempted again 4 days after discharge...he felt he had nowhere to turn, no one even communicated with the school...he went to CHOP then Tower Behavioral Health for inpatient for 2 weeks (he loved the services here, groups were helpful), then back to Horsham for partial again where, unfortunately, he had the same social worker again. Again, his aftercare was not set up at all. To her benefit, she was somewhat better at communication this time around, but still we were never informed of a discharge date...my nephew told us "oh hey I go back to school Monday" and when my sister called SW to confirm she had already left for the day! So his discharge was a joke, and again, no outpatient services were set up and my sister and I scrambled for 12 hours to find him an outpatient provider less than 10 minutes from our house. She had never contacted them to see if they had availability. He has returned to school now for two days and has had to be picked up due to massive panic attacks and crisis. This place is supposed to stabilize and support kids...I am highly disappointed in all services received, the lack of coordination with outpatient providers and schools, and the fact that on TWO occasions our family was not even made aware of the discharge plan until it had happened. Unfortunately, the Philadelphia area is sparse for child partial programs or IOPs, so you will have little choice outside of Horsham that doesn't do private pay. It's a shame really that the staff just seems to either be overloaded with cases, or just pushes the kids through the program to discharge without any real attention to setting them up to succeed afterwards. Do better UHS and Horsham.

I'm 20 when I was 17 I was admitted here for a 72 hour hold and then the doctor said that if I tried to sign out at 72 hour he would take me to court bc he makes the rules "and who do think they're going to believe the doctor or the patient" I was put into the aggressive unit due to overflow. A lot of the kids had been there for months bc their parents didn't want them back. The staff screamed at us constantly any chance they got. A lot of the kids would be given 4 point restriction and injected with benadryl simply bc the staff got pissed off(mainly the kids whos parents didnt want them back and had no one to fight for them)There was no water tank so whenever we were thirsty we had to ask for a cup of water and the staff would groan and get irritated. We were also threatened multiple time to have our "food privileges" taken away for being to loud.

Most of the staff were wonderful and I would give them 5 stars but the overall experience was lousy. I had problems from the beginning. Rules were unclear and enforced arbitrarily. My soap was taken away but my roommate's body spray was returned to her after being confiscated. I was denied visitation both times saying I didn’t fill the paper in on time, they didn’t have enough staff, my social worker had to sign off, etc. Everyone had a different answer. Getting meds was a nightmare! My docto...

My doctor left off numerous medications I take and every time I asked was told it wasn’t in my orders including pepto bismol. Nurse Teddy was a horror to deal with and had absolutely no compassion. The worst thing was getting home and discovering someone had taken all my medications out of my bag, including a controlled substance! I called them immediately and was told they didn’t find anything and to go to the pharmacy the next day. Called back and spoke with the pharmacy who checked twice and said nothing was ever handled in. I reported them to my insurance company and within an hour the same nurse called back with NO EXPLANATION asking when I wanted to pick them up! Go somewhere ELSE!!!

I've tried to get the attention without having to make a post like this. This place is starting to treat my child like a guinea pig instead of actually offering therapeutic services. Medication is not for everyone and I do understand that medication is necessary for some. However, psychotherapy goes along way. DBT & CBT Can be used and be very beneficial instead of jumping from more medicine to another and then wondering why a patient feels the way that they do. My child is not a guinea pig. ...

Medication is not for everyone and I do understand that medication is necessary for some. However, psychotherapy goes along way. DBT & CBT Can be used and be very beneficial instead of jumping from more medicine to another and then wondering why a patient feels the way that they do. My child is not a guinea pig. I'm 40 years old and I went through this when I was 15 years old. A lot of time has gone by since then and this is completely unacceptable. Not even getting a phone call for a week not being able to get in touch with my child and then being on the phone for only 15 minutes and him being told to wrap it up when I can't get in touch with him for days. Someone Need to email me back and have a conversation. No wonder why the ratings have gone down so much over the last couple of years. It's preposterous how these patients are being treated, especially our adolescence.
