The Sheridan VA Medical Center works with veterans and their loved ones to treat drug and alcohol addiction, mental illnesses, and any possible health problems that may have been caused by the drug use. All of these services are trauma-informed, including individual therapy, support groups, supportive housing, psychiatric care, anger management, medication management, and suicide prevention. Men and women who have served in the military also struggle with some form of trauma or PTSD following their retirement from service. This can lead to alcohol or drug use as forms of self-medication, and because these co-occurring disorders feed off of one another, it is critical that treatment addresses both at the same time. Sheridan VA assesses all of their clients in order to determine what needs to be treated and how. This treatment provider does accept military insurance as well as other treatment options, but it is important to recognize that not all treatment centers do accept military insurance so this VA clinic does make dual diagnosis substance abuse treatment more accessible.

The staff has been nothing but helpful and kind. I greatly appreciate all you have done and are doing for me. Thank you. I hope other veterans have the same experience and get the help they need.

Started having Seizures 6 weeks ago. Had a Brain MRI 1 MAY. The request to see a Neurologist wasn’t sent until 15 MAY. At 100% P&T, Im told I’ll have to wait 1 - 2 months to see the Neurologist. I’ve already been to the ER 3 times in 6 weeks. Dr. Bennett advised me to just keep calling 911 until I can get seen. I’ve left multiple messages to my “care team” asking for some type of medication to help mitigate these seizure get a response. Pretty worthless care. Update - 14 June 2023: I did r...

There is a lot of great people that works at the sheridan VA but there politics and how some of them think they are god is disgusting a week out from disk replacement surgery on some heavy meads not buy choice and they questioned a back surgeons and are refusing to fill unless we jump through hopes and swim a ocean climb a mountain then maybe I can get them. The va sent me to the surgeon the pills are 20 dollars a day it took me 4 years to get a surgery I have had no life for the past 2 yea...

Programming is a joke. Too many politics. Staff gets their way no regard for veteran. Fill out a grievance and watch it go nowhere. Veterans are on a "I like" basis with staff. Foods bad. Lock you down whole time in a resident program. Staff lies to veterans. Been there three times...last chance with me. More options are available I suggest taking them.

On hold for an hour trying to get a hold of community care while wait time went as low as 2 minutes. While hearing “your call is important to us”. While it should say “well not that important to us”.

This my VA hospital. In the 5 years I’ve never had a problem with any staff member there.
