Here is an honest review of someone who was 10-13 here. I was there from Thursday to this past Tuesday. 03/29/24-04/02/24.
I was in the Progress unit which I’ve heard multiple times is the best unit to be in. Referred to as “Paradise” by multiple people. I will say there is truth to this. I was first put in “Recovery” due to no beds in Progress. The difference is night and day. Overall, I liked this place and I can tell that they are actually there to help. There are resources to help you. In my opinion, they do want you to be well. The place was clean and they made sure we kept ourselves and our areas clean. Yes, there is a strict schedule. But when dealing with mental health I feel this is important. It doesn’t do your mental any good to lounge around all day in bed and not take care of yourself. They make sure you eat 3x a day plus snacks. The food was actually good for the most part and for what it was. My biggest problem was the terrible communication. I had no idea what was going on with my discharge plan until
I talked to the patient director (Charles). I talked to him Monday around 4pm and told him my concerns of everyone who is supposed to know what’s going on, lying to my face saying they do not know anything about when I’m supposed to go home. To which he told me “it’s 4pm. Someone should have talked to you by now. I text someone and they should be coming.” No one ever came. The next morning I saw him and told him and he looked disappointed but said he would get the director to speak to me personally. Which she (Toya) did. That was my first and last time seeing her, but she was very nice and apologetic for the lack of communication. She also informed me that my therapist was out sick the day before and someone should have told me. I also found out when I got home from my mother that they knew I was going home Tuesday, Monday and should have let me know. No one likes to feel trapped with no knowledge of when they will go home. This honestly ruined my experience. If I had clear communication on when my “projected discharge date” would have been, I could have focused more on therapy. Instead I was hyper focused on not only not knowing when I would leave, but being blatantly lied to by people who were supposed to be helping me and my mental health. Which led to me having an attitude that wasn’t conducive to me taking advantage of the resources I had there. If that wasn’t an issue, my experience would have been 10x better. So I said all that to say, this isn’t the four seasons. It is a mental hospital (for me at least). Everyone is there for a reason. For what this place is, it’s not bad at all. Overall, if I am ever in a crisis again, I would strongly consider coming back here. Hopefully the communication will have improved by then.

Honestly, the food was fine and I enjoyed the schedule. I was a 10-13 and placed in Progress, and the BHAs were lovely. My only issue was my doctor minimized my medical problem and thus I had medical problems the whole time and was not sent to her for the second half. As well as that, I was kept there 13-14 days, an extra day longer for my 'labs' despite all the staff wanting me to go except the one person making decisions. Everyone in Progress was lovely though.

My daughter was sent here last year, 2023. The hospital was not told they did not accept medicaid, nor were we as parents. She was transported midnight of a Thursday, I was called at 3am that Friday to drive 3 hours to fill out paperwork. I fill out a book, took copies of both insurances, and nothing still said of not accepting her insurance. During her stay, we never received any follow up calls after leaving several messages. I fill out a book, took copies of both insurances, and nothing still said of not accepting her insurance. During her stay, we never received any follow up calls after leaving several messages. After she was released, we started getting bills. I called the first time and the employee stated she had none of my paperwork and hung up on me. I called back and reported her and all of a sudden, our paperwork was found. Hmmm, how convenient. They did not file her secondary. I fought and fought for months about them filing insurances. We are still receiving a huge bill after several calls the past year, I have them all documented and names. I refuse to pay it after the way we have been treated and after losing our information, which is a big problem. This place needs to get their stuff together before even asking people for money. They already have had 2 lawsuits in the past few years for their negligence, as they should.

I don't recommend this place to anybody. I did feel like some of the therapists helped. However, recently, I got a HUGE bill. I had a Medicare Medicaid plan and shouldn't have had to pay anything under my plan. I've tried contacting the financial office, but nobody answers or returns calls. If you have a choice, don't come here. They also took multiple days to do a routine blood test, and I could have been discharged a lot sooner if they had taken it at the beginning of my admission like they...

The staff was rude and unorganized.

If you care for your loved ones, do NOT send them here. There are way too many flaws that outweigh the good. Staff members are rude, the food is worse than what you can find in jail. You sit in front of a TV all day long. The therapists do not do their job properly. The therapist at the Progress Unit comes to work high, and smells like weed. That’s a very big trigger to those that are trying to recover. On multiple occasions, clients have noticed. This place feels more towards a penitentiary ...

That’s a very big trigger to those that are trying to recover. On multiple occasions, clients have noticed. This place feels more towards a penitentiary than it does a treatment center. You have a very small handful of staff that are kind , particular names: AJ, Ruby, Ashley, whom will welcome you with a smile, but good luck getting the others to even show their teeth. Their way of programming is flawed, do NOT put yourself through this place, you will come out worse than when you admitted.

I went here In November of 2023 while I was there I was treated like trash. The employees let a guy keep touching me after telling them he was doing it but I was ignored. Then I saw an employee cuss out a doctor. That’s not all when I told the place I was allergic to sulfur they gave me something with sulfur in it and said I was just having a panic attack. When I was having said “panic attack” I asked the Tec if I could still go home the next day and she said I wouldn’t be able to, let me rem...

Also when the higher ups came to check up on the place we started doing things we never did before but once they left it returned back to normal. Also when my dad left me clothes they wouldn’t let me have them till it was an hour later or not so. He called them so many times they were rude to him when he came to pick me up

They didn't provide me with discharge papers, aren't answering the phones, sent me to an only overnight shelter knowing I did not want that or was even comfortable with that (manic episodes, anxiety).
My experience while receiving treatment is mixed because some areas are great while in others they lacked. I definitely have my favorites and that's because they showed how much they cared.
The noodle for snacks should be illegal. It's just laziness to even give out. Yall wouldn't even want ...

Charles was very attentive and does care.
AJ is my favorite BHA

If I could give it a 0 I would! I had bruises all over my chest because a nurse tech drove her knuckles in my chest while I was having a panic attack, then forced to take medication without knowing what it was ,and forced to stay longer than required, WITHOUT talking to anyone . They are horrible at communicating! The food is so unhealthy . And the staff alone treated patients like we were infected . I left this facility with soooo much trauma, that I’m still healing from . God bless Mrs. Ruby she was the only one with any compassion.if it wasn’t for her they would have sent me to recovery JUST FOR CRYING THAT I MISSED MY HUSBAND . You weren’t allowed to show any emotion or they would threaten to send you to recovery . The staff all hates there job there and it’s obvious! Please don’t send anyone you love here ! They won’t leave the same .
