I was here during my teens. The place was horrible and more like a prison than a treatment center. The trauma I experienced haunts me to this day... Was at this place for almost 11 months... putting it simply, the worst placement I've ever been in. The staff were... mediocre at best, some of them openly ridiculed the kids and taunted them when they were in high distress, or didn't do anything to help. There were several times where I, as a resident, was the one calming the kids down or trying to get them to not SH. Or the kids, if they had an issue with you, they made your life a living hell. I was on the phone and kids were taunting me, throwing water on me and the phone, and yelling to the person I was talking to. The staff would sit by and watch as kids would bully and put the other kids down, and wouldn't do a thing about it. I sincerely hope that you read the reviews or look online before sending your kid here. This place hurt me more than it helped me, and honestly didn't fix a thing that was wrong.

I was in the Cardinal Point group home here at resource treatment for most of 2021
In my experience overall this was a good place. There was the typical treatment center drama, a couple fights, gossiping, and sneaking around, but that’s going to be the same anywhere, so I don’t see the point in bringing that up in these reviews as many others have.
The complaints I have though, are

In my experience overall this was a good place. There was the typical treatment center drama, a couple fights, gossiping, and sneaking around, but that’s going to be the same anywhere, so I don’t see the point in bringing that up in these reviews as many others have.
The complaints I have though, are
1.) The 3rd shift nurse that was there during my stay was rude, and an instigator. She would disrespect residents, and if they got an additude back she would play victim and lie and say she was calling the police to try to upset them more. She was suspended towards the end of my stay but quickly brought back for god knows what reason.
2.) There is a serious lack of treatment here, at least in the group homes. Absolutely minimal.
3.) I don’t know how it is now, but it was seriously under supervised. Third shift staff always slept throughout the night. Everyone was able to sneak around the home, and even out of the home during the night.
4.) The kitchen/fridge was all open to us, which I loved (sharps were put up) it gave it a more home feel. But some of the kids would take advantage of this and eat/drink most of what was in the fridge within the first 48 hours of getting groceries.
- I did mostly like my stay here, I met some wonderful staff who had an impact on my life. But the group home isn’t treatment. It’s just like being at home, but with more kids. I would like to say I have met some kids who live there currently who complained to me about the home, and some of it is bogus. The group home wasn’t rough by any means. Yes, the supervision could be better, and yes sometimes incidents happen, but the group home (I cannot speak for the facility on campus) was overall safe. And most complaints you’ll hear are just typical teenage complaints.

In my experience working as a Behavioral Health Associate and a Community Home Support Worker here for the past 2 years, I have witnessed the clinical aspect of this facility considerably neglect the treatment needs of the residents in their care.
Poor management, discrimination, incompetent training, favoritism, social politics, inappropriate staffing, neglect, inattentive staff, and over-working staff are some examples of how this facility fails both employees and residents.
This facility often makes problem behaviors worse, or even creates more problematic behaviors due to poor attention to residents and lack of treatment. If you are considering working here, be advised that this employer is not considerate of employee's needs or responsive to employees active in the units. This employer does not provide mental health resources for their staff despite having high expectations of employees mental health condition.
If you are seeking a behavioral health option for your child, please consider therapy options outside of residential treatment.

This treatment center has a lot of internal issues that are not based on therapeutic care for the children.
The operational methods that are used are based on colorism, favoritism, and power.
My past position at this treatment center I worked in an environment that would constrict my ability to work effectively and professionally.

The operational methods that are used are based on colorism, favoritism, and power.
My past position at this treatment center I worked in an environment that would constrict my ability to work effectively and professionally.
This is by far one of the Nastiest unkept places to bring children It is outdated, dirty, and poorly equipped.
As an educated individual of ethnic descent, I was afraid of the political implications that left me feeling uncertain and uncomfortable. There are no conflict management strategies or structure based on success only what and who can take blame in exponential crisis situations.
A few of the workers there and their poor professionalism based on name and position are as follows:
(Kelsie Williams) a therapeutic manager for the children fails to be and do just that provide therapy.
This woman is a racist, she nitpicks with certain ethnic staff and uses her position to fire/terminate whomever she pleases.
She provides No adequate support for the children and plays devil's advocate for her friends within the department. Dresses in poor and unprofessional fashion has inadequate hygiene, and has a terrible approach to quality care and adolescent treatment.
(Stephanie Stanley) Impecunious boundaries with the children, she exudes unprofessional behavior and discusses private matters openly and publicly.
This particular staff is supposed to protect and monitor potential threats to employees and children is also a superior problematic racist. She uses her relationships within the company to discredit workers with prejudice and bias that creates a space of uncertainty and hatred.
(Wendy Alfari)
A scheduler has been unfair in her work habits by discrediting amazing people within the company costing them their jobs and work credibility. She is also a person who thrives on misinformation and untruths about others to feel superior uses verbal abuse, including snarky comments and insults. Another reason new hires walk out is because of her.
These are just a few names within Resource that have tainted the reputation of therapeutic care.
This place is constantly hiring and firing good employees for the sake of power, favoritism and unnecessary cruelty of punishment.
The Facility is outdated and unkept, people are constantly sick, overworked and overlooked due to the level of work politics.
Stop bringing your children to treatment centers based on housing and not credible evidence based on quality care.
Stop allowing places like these to be operable knowing that the needs of the children aren’t being met due to the dislikes of certain positive hardworking employees.
One of the things that was most adjuring as a past employee was the lack of consistency from management.
Their lack of leadership and constant blaming, & unsolicited gestures to punish people for avoidable incidents are astounding.
(Resource Treatment Center) is one of the dead-end establishments that is solely based on racial stereotypes, unprovoked verbal threats on Staff, mistreatment of children, mediocre pay, and an inhabitable bug-ridden work environment.
Reevaluate your decision to bring your children there for it is uncertain, poorly managed, and environmentally unstable.

My sister is currently in this facility for court ordered treatment. I have heard so many things while on phone calls with her... yelling, kids cursing and fighting, staff members talking down to kids and each other. Don't get me wrong, they aren't all bad, but there is a lot of room for improvement. For one, my sister managed to sneak a boy into the facility and engage in intercourse AND she keeps managing to get on social media when she isn't allowed to. If the staff was more engaged with t...

If the staff was more engaged with the kids and did their jobs, none of this would ever have happened. It's not all their fault, my sister is 99% of the problem, but that 1% could have kept her out of so much trouble if they paid more attention to the kids. The lack of boundaries and respect between the kids and staff is something you can't even put into words. I swear, the only person I like there that works with my sister is her therapist. She reaches out to me more than DCS does.

It was alright nothing too crazy except when i was here there was a "riot" kids broke down the doors and climbed on the roof, they ran away from the facility and it was terrible. I worked the program as fast as i could and really appreciated my therepist and all that she did. Miss terrie i believe her name is, its been so long that i cant remember. I do have to say the whole staff can put you in holds thing was a little harsh for the females as we were not as stong as the 200-250 lbs men that would tackle us and put us in the holds. The day i went home was the day i couldnt wait to get out of there and FAST. Decent program but could use some help. I did like getting breakfast with staff on weekends, that was always fun to go deliver with them. I Started out on Courage and ended up leaving that unit to go to Peace between the 2 boys units and reach. I was one of the first girls to open peace as a girls unit. it was a small unit frankly but i think they wouldve expanded it. Miss. Iris was awesome and so was Miss. Penny! loved those women. Mr. Travis was amazing as well. I had some bad times there but i also had some good. I was there when they started school differently when they decided to Put more of a class changing period thing in there like a high school that really helped out a lot of the kids i believe. I do have to say that the treatment did help me despite the flaws. I am 21 years old now and Im happily married. I work at an all girls Residential Facility In Utah now where I can help girls who were like me. So i do have to thank them for the treatment and the sudden urge to be in that line of field. I am currently studying Psychology and behavioral Studies at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. Even though there were negatives to my positives when i was a resident I do have to say that they are trying there best!
