Piedmont Macon Medical Center is a general healthcare facility that provides every type of hospital-based care that men, women, and children in Macon need access to. When it comes to their substance abuse treatment program, clients are asked to actively participate in the planning process so that every single program meets their individual needs and ensures long-term sobriety. Clients have access to a full continuum of care, and many start with inpatient treatment before stepping down to lower levels. Some of the available treatment services include individual counseling, peer-led support groups, stabilization, addiction education, relapse prevention training, aftercare planning, 12-step meetings, cognitive behavioral therapy, coping skill development classes, anger management, and medication management to name a few. The overall length of treatment and intensity depends on the specific client, but because they are actively involved throughout the entire process, clients are able to heal at a pace that is comfortable.
