Also while I was a patient there my family would call up there and I never got any messages.

I’ve been inpatient here three times. The first two times I stayed on the Sunrise unit. I was allowed to wear my religious head covering (Hijab) The third time I was admitted to Cedars I was told it was not allowed. I was highly upset and the nurse threatened to have me sedated.
As far as the food goes, I have dietary restrictions because of my religion and also choose not to eat certain meats for personal reasons. The hospital doesn’t offer many options for vegans/vegetarians. I understand ...

As far as the food goes, I have dietary restrictions because of my religion and also choose not to eat certain meats for personal reasons. The hospital doesn’t offer many options for vegans/vegetarians. I understand the facility and kitchen is much smaller than other hospitals and the staff in the kitchen may consist of two people at times. This hospital doesn’t have the luxury of having more kitchen staff to focus on the patients dietary needs. I have been inpatient at facilities that give more choices/ options for meals or provide a generic vegetarian menu. There was times I wouldn’t get much to eat. I was told that I could speak with a dietitian, but what good was that going to do if the options aren’t available? I guess the information would be helpful after discharge.
Overall, this was wonderful for me. It gave me a chance to think about things. I discovered a lot about myself. I would recommend this place for care. The only downside is your insurance may not cover the highly recommended outpatient programs after discharge.

I loved my overall experience here, I don’t deny that one particular employee needs to be fired, he is plain rude to clients and lazy at the least. Overall 99% of the rest of the staff were great to awesome. They offer therapy that most won’t get even in a 90 day program. I was there 7 days. The medical staff is exemplary, going even above their requirements. I would recommend anyone needing it for the detox program I went through. No place is perfect, and there may be a slag or two, but I ha...

Went for free assessment which was amazing. But the follow thru was shockingly bad. Counselor at initial interview promised one thing. When son arrived next day, they acted like they did know him. He is 37 years old. Put in group therapy with 20 year old drug addicts. The session had absolutely nothing to do with the care they promised. It was, by all accounts a bait and switch. He has lost all hope. It would have been better not to go then we set up with false hope. Very cruel.

I was treated with care and compassion by the staff here. The food is healthful and hearty, and patients take part in group therapy that encourages their growth. Inpatient accepts Medicaid! I highly recommend!

After a rocky intake experience, I'm still going to have to give Oakwood 5 stars. They turned my mental health around. I was surrounded by caring people and I loved the other patients. I was able to get to the other side of the most challenging dark period I've ever had in my life. I learned my own value and I received the hope I was looking for. I left at peace with my situation and tools and support to move forward. The despair I was feeling wasn't permanent or reflecting of reality. I was ...

I was able to get to the other side of the most challenging dark period I've ever had in my life. I learned my own value and I received the hope I was looking for. I left at peace with my situation and tools and support to move forward. The despair I was feeling wasn't permanent or reflecting of reality. I was merely overwhelmed, experiencing PTSD, scared, and lacking in sleep and food.

This place was just glorified babysitting. They had a schedule daily, but never had the staff to do it all. There was too much downtime and there was some staff members that were horrible. There’s one staff member that was sleeping all night long and when I reported it, he came through our unit when he wasn’t supposed to to intimidate me in another person that filed complaints against him. They did nothing to keep him out of our area. It was the worst experience I ever had and I’m filing a Co...

They humiliated you and made you feel like a criminal. My insurance will not be paying for my stay.

First off, I don't have a negative review. I don't get the bad ones I see. Just not my experience.
I self admitted due to a mental health crisis. This place saved me. I had been sober for a few months when I went in and have stayed that way.
At first I was scared and thought I had made a mistake. By the next morning, I surrendered to the process and committed to it. I was not disappointed. The groups, the PCAs, the nurses and my doctor were excellent. They helped me in every way. I am truly g...

At first I was scared and thought I had made a mistake. By the next morning, I surrendered to the process and committed to it. I was not disappointed. The groups, the PCAs, the nurses and my doctor were excellent. They helped me in every way. I am truly grateful. I will refer this hospital. I am in a much much better place. This hospital and its program changed me. I look forward to continuing treatment.
ONE WARNING and it's a big one. I feel like the billing department took advantage of me. I have excellent insurance. In my shattered state at admission I was told I had to pay "my portion". Oddly it was the exact amount to the penny in my checking account. To the penny. Upon discharge, I was presented with another bill of $1500. I asked to be billed. Once insurance was billed, all was covered. I should not have had to pay anything other than a copay. They knew this. They got paid twice. I was discharged the week before Christmas and had absolutely no money. The billing department is apparently outsourced and I was offered no help from in house billing. I called. I was told there is nothing they could do. They literally did not need to charge me. I have NO complaints but this one thing.
Beware if you have good insurance. If not they still get paid. If so, they get paid twice. Yeh, right before Christmas. Couldn't even buy water. I'm serious.
This hospital worked for me. I highly recommend Oakwood Springs.
