Following that death experience, I went into another hospital the following day and had a quintuple bypass. For those of you that don't know what that is, you have six bypass and vascular colonies. I required to have five completely removed and replaced.
After the surgery I was on life support for 4 days. I was being kept alive by machine and pumps.
I was discharged after only 10 days. What happens next I would not wish on anyone
After the surgery, my girlfriend of 3 years broke up with me because I could not financially help out anymore. I asked her how long I had to move out, she said that the end of next week she wanted me to move out.
So now I'm homeless, I'm in pretty bad shape. I've died, been brought back to life, lost my home, lost my truck because of financial struggles, lost my job, and 90 days of homelessness took its toll.. I started drinking again. My disease and desire to drink was right there waiting for me.
My brother found out through a conversation we had that I was in really bad shape. I drove to New Jersey from California.
Once I got to New Jersey I kept drinking while I was trying to recover from open heart surgery.
It didn't take long before I was a full blown drunk again. I had lost all hope. If there was a rock bottom I was about a hundred feet under it
I was filled full of hatred, I resented everyone, I was in denial, I was angry, I blamed everyone for my problems, I was spiritually bankrupt, and had major character flaws that I refused to accept and then quickly became suicidal.
The police responded quickly to my call. I was ready to take my own life.
I was taken to a psych ward and recovery hospital. While I was there, New Hope reached out to the hospital and they said they would be able to help me.
I could not believe it, I had no money, no insurance, I have serious mental health conditions, I am broken and I am so depressed and hopeless that all I wanted to do was take my own life.
New Hope was there waiting for me when I arrived. They had warm food, and a bottle of water.
I was scared. They could see that. The staff took care of My fears and they were so kind and friendly.
During their intake, they were so patient with me. They explained the rules and they took the time to make sure that I understood what I was responsible for.
I my own opinion, I would not have made it through this process if New Hope had not helped me with my problems.
Their program is not perfect, but I would not have 200days sober today if they had not come to my rescue and gave me everything I needed to succeed in my life journey of greatfu sobriety.

This place is a joke. You have TAs that are on power trips with no credentials. The only reason why that place still has people is because of Emmitt. The Director really needs to evaluate how to select and train her staff. On the lady side, Pearl and Alicia are evil and need to get in jobs because they treat addicts like trash. Beware of the New Hopes pretty colors because everything that glitters ain’t Gold.

They treat you like you are in jail rather than in recovery. I was looking for a recovery center that was strict because I needed the structure but to not be able to look Aaron’s while eating was beyond strict. They count everything from sugars in your coffee to the amount of bread to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
The best part of the facility would be meeting the clients and building some lasting relationships because there are people they are trying to get clean. However, Meredith, a person that you will never see, is making decisions about your life and doesn’t even know you or spoken to you face-to-face. I will recommend to stay far away and invest some research time and effort in finding a suitable recovery facility.

Couple days after arrived they quick me out from the house dropping me off at an Emergency Shelter parking lot near by !!!
Amazing Behavior; a friend called Police 🚨 they were so upset and so nasty while using really bad words against us.

This place didn’t work for me. I can say that isn’t entirely their fault. When you live every day in a constant state of fight-or- flight for months, certain things can trigger certain types of responses. Maybe they could anticipate that better, maybe that’s a lot to ask. I genuinely don’t know because this was my first experience with anything like this. They were excellent with providing “comfort meds”. That I can say confidently.

I genuinely don’t know because this was my first experience with anything like this. They were excellent with providing “comfort meds”. That I can say confidently.
I checked into detox late Thursday evening 4/18/24. I live almost 2 hours away from this (probably for most a court-ordered) facility.
What I couldn’t give to my sister or companion (who drove me) in that moment was inventoried and “securely” stored in their basement. Later I was told everything goes into a “safe” which CANNOT be accessed on the weekends - not even by god nor authorities nor anyone. I was advised this by multiple almost smirking staff members. One even went so far as to say through a self-satisfied tone: “well, you signed the paperwork”. Let me just say, I was barely legally conscious by the end of the check-in process as the benzo I had taken earlier that evening was *insisting* it was nigh-nigh time.
Ultimately, I had to check myself out by Saturday afternoon. And after a week of MULTIPLE, daily calls, unreturned messages, and flat out obvious avoidance, it is now clear to me that they also routinely make no effort to attend to anyone no longer in their pipeline of profit.
Such a practice, is unprofessional to say the absolute least. Many come in to places like this upon the heartbroken flint of their and their loved one’s fatigued and last hopes, some are homeless, etc.
I guess I’ll have to contact my family’s attorney to retrieve my personal property since even the director Meredith sent my call to voicemail - her outgoing message careful prospects should note providing vacation/out-of-office dates from FEBRUARY!!
I’ve since heard that Discovery Institute (in same business park) is very good but they didn’t have a bed on Saturday 4/20 as I dragged the tissue-thin clear trash bag of what was (begrudgingly) released to me when I finally had the wherewithal to get myself out of there.
I never even met my doctor nor my counselor - but kept being told that “you’ll meet them today”.
Extra star given because I did meet some people who seemed earnest in their desire to provide help/care. And it’s really hard work that some are trying to do.

I have worked in healthcare for 20 years and am a Registered Nurse. My loved one is in this facility. The staff from the front desk to the "supervisor" are all RUDE and talk to you like they are better than you. When I asked to speak to a supervisor they sent someone that was NOT a supervisor to shut me up. This was the most unprofessional staff exhibiting no compassion or empathy! Staff has no badges on! As evidenced by the facility's response to a poor review regarding what they do I hope shows people this is NOT the place to send a loved one. Actually, I would not send my worst enemy there. The response from the facility to the poor review was unprofessional, sarcastic, and rude as you can see below. Again if your loved one needs help DO NOT SEND THEM THERE! Also, you can see most reviews of this facility are 1 star. I would have given them 0 if it was an option.

I attended their location with the intention of getting help and getting over my addiction. It felt like a prison more than anything. The big guy make me strip down twice and accused me of having a cell phone and I clearly did not. They raided my clothes (which they didn’t give to me for 2 days). I am considering contacting my lawyer. I am considering contacting my lawyer. If you are looking for actual treatment for addiction, do not go here… there are good people at the location, but look out for the guy that probably failed the corrections officers guidelines. I asked why I got stripped searched several times and all they did was mumble. They do not care about your health, they’re just on a power trip

No hope should be the name of this program. They stole 4 months worth of subutex from me after discharging me. And all my Adderall. Guess they'll use it on their next patients so they don't have to spend more money on medication. Don't go to this place. Their are better alternatives.

This place is a scam at best. It is ran by people that openly talk about selling on the streets. Nepotism at its finest with majority of staff being related and having each others backs no matter how severe actions against clients are. They do not care about the personal well being of clients and understand it’s a revolving door that is nothing but money. Nepotism at its finest with majority of staff being related and having each others backs no matter how severe actions against clients are. They do not care about the personal well being of clients and understand it’s a revolving door that is nothing but money. Actual one on one sessions are limited with massive groups hourly with people of all assortments that need different levels of care. Nothing will get accomplished unless you advocate for yourself. I was assaulted by another client broken glasses basically blind for a few days and left to my own devices until I mentioned legal action. No paper trail of the assault no signature required as proof of incident. Upon leaving my items were stolen and my backpack was replaced. Over a hundred dollars in cash items and personal medical information gone. I was not reimbursed fully for these items or offered an apology. If you want it and this is a last resort you will make it work. This place should be burned to the ground and rebuilt upwards with new management and staff. Completely unprofessional, arrogant, demeaning and unapologetic. Meredith “The Boss” and some of the members of her staff should not just be fired but put behind bars. Taking advantage of helpless people in a hopeless situation while being neglectful and providing an unfit environment physically and mentally should be illegal. It’s a shame and they should be ashamed. One star is a star to many.
It won’t let me reply to yours but you did. Your staff stole property and disregarded important medical paperwork. I was not compensated fully and have been in talks with a legal team to represent my case. Thanks for your political but worthless reply.
