I absolutely refer anyone who is serious about wanting recovery to check out Mount Regis, they blew the facilities in my area out of the water and I would go back 100 times over, they actually diagnosed my issues and helped me dig into them which 10+ years of different facilities in Richmond couldn't do, Bridgette is hardcore but she's real and her team is AMAZING, I can't give enough praise to the counselors who keep it running and I truly appreciate the whole experience I got from the progr...

Mt. Regis was a great experience until it wasn’t. Some of the Staff know nothing about integrity or respect. The food is great but the cook is temperamental so be careful. The facility is nice and the nurses are great but watch out for some of the personnel in charge they kicked me out for not telling on a staff member that gave me my headphones for the gym….didn’t know I wasn’t posed to have em them.

Through IV drug usage and other risky behaviors, I contracted (and was diagnosed with) a deadly virus which will kill me if I do not take my daily script. Personally friends (almost exclusively) with many others who have this same immunity condition, I have seen first hand what happens if this is neglected, and it's absolutely horrific and I do not want that to happen to me. That fear alone is equal to the desire to use for me-in other words, I chase my prescription with the very same vigor I...

That fear alone is equal to the desire to use for me-in other words, I chase my prescription with the very same vigor I chase my D.O.C. (drug of choice) with. in 3 years, over 12 moves, across 7 states-i missed only 2 doses, and this was due entirely to the pharmacy-and in response, I took steps to ensure bureaucrats couldn't be a bottleneck anymore.
So, In 3 years, while running the streets, high on meth, I missed 2doses. In 5(?) days at Mt. Regis, I missed all 5 doses-I was never allowed my life saving medication for the entirety of my stay. I wasn't ever given a clear explanation on why they were unable to produce my script, and I did everything in my power to ensure that any idiot could have easily gotten it for me by calling the pharmacy, insurance, pre-paying, and notifying of my exact situation/that a pickup would be made by a Regis employee, and not only relaying this to mt. Regis staff, but writing down the address of the pharmacy and having this conversation on speakerphone, with several staff monitoring my call sitting around me. I truly cannot fathom a legitimate reason, but they Still weren't able to complete this task at all. I guess they had only been trained on picking up suboxone from pharmacies and not on picking up medications people may actually need for survival.
Nevertheless I kept my head up and dealt with bed bugs, harassment, cold shoulders and all the rest for at least 3 nights before my immune system finally said enough; my eye hurt one morning, and despite being red as a crayon and making several complaints to nurses and staff, the infection was ignored, i wasn't allowed even saline for relief. It wasn't until I woke at 4am with a large amount of pus oozing from the other eye (which would still open very slightly) that a nurse suddenly remembered that I could have some saline, but as it was nearing the end of her shift I should just continue to writhe in pain until the next shift arrived-sometime around 7.
I stopped being amicable and nice and began protecting my vision and health at 7. I wasn't rude or angry, I was deliberate and unwavering. I demanded healthcare at 7 and was driven by a staff member in his car to the closest E.R., which I was dropped off in front of and told to call (without a phone) when I was ready for pick up. Whatever. Interestingly I saw many familiar faces while on my field trip, but one In particular I was certain was a lady I met at Regis during intake. I called her name and she acknowledged me-apparently there for an OB appointment... in the E.R.? I was issued a dose of my regular script, eyedrops were prescribed and I called for pick up.
Upon return I went straight to management and calmly requested my phone, wallet and keys and was met with a very aggressive, hoodrat assistant clinical director. More beaurocratic excuses I was no longer willing to entertain, she escalated the interaction with a snarky remark and began to roll (very obese) away.Panicked, detoxing, sick, and angry, I kicked the door to leave which prompted a 911 call, trip to the magistrates and demands in court for my arrest. Despite not getting my meds, They have certainly gone out of their way to ensure that I am arrested for kicking that door-a 'monument'according to the charge. I was able to go pick up my prescription as soon as I left the place. It was sitting, waiting. They hadn't heard from anyone besides myself and it was there the whole time.
A loser user I was copping from after the ordeal let something slip about teaching me a lesson in humility-which was why they had conspired to create this hell for me-an extremely ironic way to teach humility, and I'd write the comment off under different circumstances

Their doctors are clueless, absolute bottom of the barrel in terms of competence. Don’t trust Brigette but most importantly, go to any other rehab that is not connected to these wrongdoers. Beds are terrible and they mix detox and no detox patients. Honestly and no exaggeration, they don’t do a single thing well. It’s a place to make your head worse. The psych ward they send you to is actually much better.

It's frustrating that they do not accept Medicaid, not all addicts can afford or have a family supporting enough to pay out of pocket for their loved ones sobriety, to be blunt, some addicts? All they have is medicaid and for them to be excluded from such essential care is disheartening. I hope that they will eventually take Medicaid because some people who would really benefit from a 30 day stay have no other insurance and can't afford out of pocket pay.

Overall experience was good. I would recommend Mt. Regis to anyone wanting to get clean. Not everything about Regis is perfect but they do a pretty good job for their size, 50~ people. The CEO is very involved and his level of commitment shows. Bring lots of cigarettes if you smoke, 1 pack a day or more. Food was mediocre, staff handled patient needs well, and counselors were good.

I entered Mt. Regis Dec 18, 2018 and have been completely sober for about 4 years and 4 months now! I was treated respectfully and with care by the staff there. The classes, groups, and one on one counseling provided me with the tools necessary to understand my addictions and finally live a drug and alcohol free lifestyle. I would recommend this program to anyone who has a sincere desire to get clean and sober, and wants to stay that way.

I went to mount Regis in January through February of 2023 and it was the first rehab I stayed the entire 30 days I was assigned and councilors such as Bill, Jarvis, Kevin, Chris all really bonded with me to help me on my journey in life.
