A few years ago I went here and my therapist was cold and one of their counselors that had tattoos was cruel by shaming me for "not trying". I did report him and he was reprehended but he didn't show any remorse. He was so mean and unprofessional and my therapist was arrogant and impatient with me; would not work with me. I wish they would have understood I was hurting terribly inside and too afraid to face my intrusive thoughts and feelings. I wasn't a quitter. Their program wasn't a good f...

My brother was a patient at McLean in Belmont. They made it feel so welcoming and the CM called me upon his arrival to introduce herself. The introduction was just to make the place look and sound good. He was thrown out today due to them wanting to send him to Fall River for a Step Down program and he had a place on the list for Casa Esperanza which he called daily and had a few more days to go. They do daily groups and lots of lag time. You do all the leg work to get to your next location. ...

I came to this place when I was broke in my life and at the time when my relationship ended. Thanks to each official staffs and doctors who helped me to reinvent me who was lost somewhere. The 2 months isolation ward helped me to recognize me and to understand me who was lost somewhere. I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder type 1 but after that my life is going good. I am currently in Australia and doing great in career. Thanks again for the life memories I gathered from here. This place is ...

Inpatient patient was given blood tests three times and denied explanations or results. Patient was not allowed to change social workers despite repeated requests based on documented retroactive trauma responses. Medicinals delivered randomly upon unwell patient's request. Patient self injured in full view of staff without medical intervention on 1/10/24. Patient and care team never received discharge papers one month later. Electric shock therapy (ECT) being administered to patients. Patient...

I can’t speak highly enough regarding my stay at McLean Hospital in Belmont, MA. I’ve never felt so invigorated and motivated as I do now - which happens to be 4 days into my stay at Proctor House 1. The MHS staff is committed and professional, and the nursing staff - especially Sierra of PH1, who has been absolutely amazing - has continually gone above and beyond to ensure I have a safe, comfortable and pleasant stay. I feel like this should be the standard of care when dealing with and trea...

I was supposed to start a partial hospitalization and since apparently they're a hospital that's not equipped to handle patients with epilepsy they requested details of my seizures and when they last occurred. During the intake a few days before I was supposed to start the program, for which I'd been approved and given a start date, the intake psychiatrist informed me that since I'd had a seizure since I'd been approved the team would have to discuss if I could be accepted into the program. A...

Bad experience at the Hill Partial. Upon arrival, there was basically no description of the program. I guess the social worker at the front desk Rose was not bothered to say much. I was told that I would just "get used to it" after a week or so. I found that the groups were very material based and pretty challenging to take in. I thought that the group leaders went over the material well, but that wasnt the issue- Sometimes the group would become a rant session instead of anything therapeutic...
