My step-son went there seeking a substance abuse program, as per their website. After he was admitted, a staff member phoned and informed me that Laurel Ridge is a "crisis center," and that the maximum length of stay is 5-7 days. My son was treated well by the staff, however, he was subjected to sexual harassment from another male patient. The man entered my son's room the very first night of his stay. Repeatedly, the kept making advances, and the staff intervened only after my son protested loudly. This place should do a better job of keeping the patients safe. Also, the psychiatrist immediately pulled a medication that my son has taken for years, causing him to shake, sweat, and vomit. My son tried to tell the doc, but he refused to listen. The doc then put him on a much lower dose of the medication he pulled. What sense does this make? It doesn't take a PhD in Psychiatry to know that you don't stop psychotropic medication "cold turkey." I'm glad my son is out of that place, and I will tell every parent I can not to send their child here.

Admissions lied to us and said that my son would be housed with kids around his own age but no older than 15 years old. The actual group age is 13-17 year olds. This is important Information that I would have used to deny admission because this is not appropriate for my son. They lie to get you to admit your child into the program. It's a business and your child is how they make money. They will say what you want to hear instead of what actually happens. Highly disappointed. Communication ...

Communication with parents during the day needs to be much better. I requested to see his chart so that I could be assured that he is actually being seen by a doctor. They would not let me see his chart until after he was released. Appears that in 7 Days stay he only saw the doctor twice for about 15 minutes each.
And no, don't give me the boilerplate Google Review response asking me to contact you. I call 2-3 times every day. I've been asking to speak to the doctor for 5 days now. Every time I ask I'm told that the doctor has been sent a text and that they will call me back. Nothing has happened.

When I first got admitted to Laurel Ridge my primary doctor was working with me. Unfortunately I also saw a secondary doctor during my stay and he didn't listen to my concerns at all. Toward the end of my stay I finally found a successful treatment. Unfortunately the Secondary doctor didn't get the message due to miscommunication and I was released without my successful medications. Overall my stay was great but the doctors didn't communicate with each other.

In trying to deal with depression and a bit of paranoia, I've been to three different mental health facilities. This is hands down the best in town. I'm currently going through ECT, and if it wasn't for the staff and physicians, as well as the facility itself, my wife and I would've never consented for this treatment. I thank everyone at Laurel Ridge, for allowing me to see the light at the end of this very long tunnel.

I’m very disappointed with the help and care that I was expecting from this place. You can’t learn anything about the patient when they’re only there for two days and a wake up. That’s not enough time to evaluate the patient nor get to know who you’re dealing with.
You were given information to keep my child for long term care from court and myself. Y’all have failed to do your job. He should have qualified for the long term treatment with the information y’all had at hand. Now I’m having to...

You were given information to keep my child for long term care from court and myself. Y’all have failed to do your job. He should have qualified for the long term treatment with the information y’all had at hand. Now I’m having to pick him back up knowing he’s not ready to be back in society doing the things he has done, that put him there in the first place.
There needs to be better supported facilities that are trained and capable of helping people and children for long term care in San Antonio, with all the disabilities and mental illnesses here in this town. No wonder theirs so many children and adults walking around lost. You can’t call yourself a treatment center if you’re not going to actually acknowledge them and give the time to dig into what’s going on with them, so they can get the proper treatment they need. Take note of this. Plus to these insurances need to cover more, so these babies can get the right treatment they need as well.

I did file a complaint however, the day i packed i know for a FACT, i packed a buprenorphine 10mcgh patch for pain. It never made it to the unit. I will come up short this month and go an excruciating week with no pain relief for my back disease. I put a complaint im the box as well as calling and leaving a message for the patient advocate and have heard nothing. I find missing opiate pain patches to be a serious matter. I returned home and looked everywhere. No patch here. Sad ending to a very positive experience. Dr. Gomez by far the best Dr. ive ever had on a inpatient unit. Shes a keeper

It was like a prison. I was there for anorexia, self harm, and suicidal thoughts and they made me stay 2 weeks. I had only one visit with the therapist and it took a week for me to get a family session. There were two girls that fought me there and they didn't even get punished. They pulled my hair and punched me, and I was the one that had to sleep out. That fight has given me trauma, i can't let anyone even touch my hair anymore without getting scared, and I'm always checking behind me to s...

This place is terrible, go to clarity instead.
I liked some of the staff though, special thanks to Mr. Josh, Mr. Ben, and Mrs. Maria.

I just want to say thank you! I feel like you saved my life. The staff at laurel ridge, trinity unit were so nice and went way beyond to help you. Dominique (hope I spelled that right) Krystal, Angel and the rest of the staff were like my family by the time I left, I miss them and didn't want to leave but it was my time to go. I learned a lot there. If anyone needs help, you should reach out to them. They will take care of you and you will be safe! I love you guys and I miss you all. Especial...
