My 15 year old daughter went to La Amistad for 8 weeks. She was ready to go but not necessarily ready to do the work that was necessary to help her. The staff did not give up on her and she is now amazingly better than the day she walked in. Everyone that I have talked to is nicer than the next. I always felt comfortable knowing that my daughter was safe and in good hands. If she read this review she would say she strongly agree.

I went here almost a year ago and still have some residual issues after attending here. I was here for about 3 1/2 months and some of the rules just seemed completely outrageous. The nutritionist here was extremely rude and did not take into consideration her actions or how to deal with mental healthed youth, she kept telling me that I need to lose weight and try to exercise more and stop eating so much when they would force us to eat three meals a day when I was used to only eating two. if y...

My son discharged from La Amistad on Friday. I have nothing but nice things to say about the staff and program there and would recommend it for anyone who feels like they have exhausted all other options for their troubled teens. My child had a terrible, traumatic loss earlier this year and suffers from bipolar disorder. He was having difficulty even getting out of bed. Standard psychiatric care and therapy didn't seem to help. He began having violent outbursts and was stuck in a cycle of Bak...

Very highly recommend. After 8 weeks with La Amistad, my 13 year old has come so much further than I ever expected. They are consistent, strong and very, very caring. The staff was amazing. My daughter always spoke so highly of the staff while there and is also glad she went. It was the hardest decision of my life to send my daughter away and one I’ve never regretted. I wish I had done this sooner. I am so grateful for the staff and expertise of this group. We’ve struggled for years with mi...

I was in the adolescent facility for a little over four weeks a few years ago. As a little girl I obviously was oblivious to a lot of the things that would go on around me but now that I have grown and been able to process these things and got the actual help I needed after attending La Amistad, I can say please do not send your child here. Of course, treatment affects everyone differently, but during my stay at La Amistad I regressed to a horrible mindset. The therapist I had was very invali...

send your child here if you want them to get worse. This place is so bad. For one The staff are no help whatsoever and like another negative comment says they are literally on this power trip. You cant even speak to one another without getting in trouble and if one of the staff were in a bad mood the whole unit was getting it taken out on them. I just left and i honestly feel bad for everyone still in there. Not only the the food is awful and you can barley identify it, you’re basically force...

I just discharged from here after a month in the residential program and a month in the Partial Hospitalization Program. The staff in residential is one of the reasons they lost a star (along with some groups and the lack of consistent staffing), they need to be trained on how to handle crisis or even an emotional person. The inconsistency in rules from shift to shift in residential was exhausting, I felt like it was on purpose just to get some of the patients in trouble or irritated. They al...

This place is clearly money oriented and do not care about the patient. They wanted their copay up front. They admitted my unstable, abused and psychotic family member for "intense therapy" following hospital admission. My family member was confused, scared and psychotic, so they were clearly unable to participate in therapy sessions, so never should have been admitted there. The staff never knew anything, about the meds, how my family member was doing and the psychiatric doctor never go...
