Most staff do not have experience with individuals who have a spinal cord injury. Staffing is low. Place is clean for the most part. Staff is friendly. I felt as though listening to the patient is not always a priority to most of the CNAs and Nursing staff. Overall I have thought the Dr's were knowledgeable and took every precaution to make sure the cause for my stay was resolved and we discussed preventative care.

I went to emergency with a bleeding bladder & passing blood clots. I was plugged up and couldn’t urinate. They took me in immediately, and put a catheter in immediately. They removed me from emergency to a room in the hospital. I was there for four days. I ended up having surgery on my bladder, and the next day I was released. I had excellent care from the nurses, doctors and everyone else attending to me. Even though I wanted out I was impressed with the the care I had I Kootenai Hospital.

I am always impressed with the professionalism of the staff, they are friendly, informative & quick to make the visit comfortable! I was fortunate to be able to have my mammogram & my bone density done back to back and didn't have to come back a different day. The waiting room was busy but everyone was helped promptly and I was called back for my procedures quickly!!

The past 2 appointments with a doctor I had were less than satisfactory. I called the patient advocate and it's been over a week since I left a voice mail. No one has called me back. You can see why I gave a one star rating, when your left waiting for the patient advocate to get back to you. I would give no stars if I could.

Many people joke about their Hospital stay, food etc. I'm 57 and have been in hospital many times. The treatment, the care from the nurses and the steady expert hand of my surgeon got me through cancer surgery. Everyone was truly concerned and sympathetic. I've never experience care like this. I am so grateful to all of you. Oh, and the food and coffee was good too. Brian K.

After an accidental fall and a broken tibia, I was treated at Kootenai Hospital with great success. Following that 4 day stay I went to OT/PT at Kootenai Physical Rehab. I encountered an incredible staff, from the ladies at the front desk greeting me pleasantly to OT/PT professionals Chad and Wendy. For the last 12 weeks they instructed me on equipment and exercises that helped me regain strength and heal. I was able to use the pool in my therapy and that was a part of my success. Everyone in the clinic was really nice. I felt like a number not a patient. Doctor came like he was running from a fire. I know it’s him it’s corporate telling him to make it quick visits to get onto the next person. I understand they go and see a lot of people, but I do believe they could act like care a little longer.
