I read some negative reviews about Kingwood but I also know they deal with some of the most difficult patients out there so I knew they could handle my daughter who has severe mental struggles that sometimes leads aggressive behaviors. They were so patient with her during outbursts and kept me informed throughout the entire stay. They were honest with me about the outlook and treatments available to her. Once she was released to outpatient that team continued to be supportive and helpful. S...

Kingwood Pines was absolutely the best resource of support my daughter and I have received in over 1 year of my daughters mental health journey. Even though she was visiting her dad in Texas when admitted and we don't live there mental health issues don't go away and they were very heartfelt and helpful and we learned so much about my daughters needs and now we have a solid plan in place and finally I feel we are on the road to recovery. Thank you to all the staff and angels at this facility....

Suicide is illegal, therefore if someone tells you their plans to commit suicide or attempts suicide they are held against their will to prevent said suicide and to mitigate liability. Mental hospitals are where they put the sick they don't know how to help. The people working at these places aside from doctors are uneducated and poorly paid. There's big money to be made so prepared to be held by them as long as possible if you have insurance. If you have a child be prepared for them to get C...

Kingwood Pines single handedly saved me from myself. I went in barely able to make it through a session without bawling to by the end laughing and smiling everyday! It did take me a while longer than expected to complete the program but they were extremely accommodating to my needs and never made me feel crazy or “like a mental patient” I was always treated with respect and kindness by all staff members I encountered! Jenisha specifically is my hero and inspired me to not only get better but ...

*Former staff member* I would not recommend Kingwood Pines to anyone! Staff treats patients as less than human and I was told by several nurses while working here to “Just ignore the patients. It’s what I do” When being asked by patients for basic human needs (like using the bathroom or asking for food/water!) I noticed a lot of staff members will roll their eyes and/or complain directly in front of the patient! There are a couple exceptions to this, (The children and adolescent units are...

If you are really in need of assistance for your love one. This is not the to take them at all. I brought my 71yr old love one to Kingwood Pines Hospital. As a last result do to them becoming physical and ironic behavior. I shared with the facility there had been a long ongoing mental illness for years. As well as the newest diagnosis was dementia possibly caused by a stroke and other factors. I left my love one there for treatment while explaining my love one has difficulties making decision...

My son was transported here by the sheriffs department in the evening. The next morning about 11:30 I went ahead and called in as I felt I should have heard from someone at the facility to go over intake, history, ect…I started by choosing the option for admissions but was ultimately transferred to multiple people with no resolve. I left my name and number with someone and was told I’d get a call back. Fast forward to the evening, still no call back! I call again, this time to be transferred ...

I was admitted into this hospital involuntarily and had the worst experience in life. I had Dr. Noel and the doctors treated me horribly. I think the doctor had a crush on one of the patients and the girl was absolutely insane and would state she was “jealous” if anyone got close to her doctor. She ended up going to the er a few days later. I ended up going to the er myself after passing out and after one of the attendees put smelling salt up to my nose causing me to have a seizure. This sent...
