My daughter has been there for 5 years. She's had her ups and down, but the staff there has been great with her. She has shown much improvement. Grateful for all of them there, they have a rough job, but seem to enjoy helping these kids. Miss all of you guys, thanks for everything you have done❤️💙💛💜

I have work for Hughes center for about 6 years and have found it to be caring and understanding faculty. Management has always been on top of their treatment of employees. The treatment and care of our residents is first and always our main priority. I find people that complain aren’t doing their job and instead of complaining maybe do their job and they would be happier and could be positive.

I was in Hughes back in mid 80's . I came from messed up situation and had met many in there in messed up situations . To be honest, in a time that I needed guidance the most I found it there . I was 16 and parents abandoned me after I proved to be uncontrolable . The Vaden sisters and Miss Gardener were strong female figures for me . I loved and miss them and what they brought to me . It's easy to cry foul. When I left I did too . Not so now I think back often . It is a valued time for me .

Bad. Horrible, horrible place. The staff are abusive verbally as well as physically. I've seen them try to make residents fight each other for their own amusement. When I was there there was a severely autistic girl there who could say some words but would just say them randomly with no meaning, I watched the staff hit her a lot and sometimes touch her sexually. She couldn't speak up for herself and if any of us said anything we would get in trouble. One time I told my dad about what they wer...

One time I told my dad about what they were doing to her and he called the therapist, the therapist told the staff and the staff got two of the older girls to beat me up for it.

My daughter and son were abused here. This place needs to be shut down and NEVER, EVER reopened. Certain ones of the staff need to be in prison!😡

Horrible. .Understaffed and hide issues. Allow kids to be beaten and raped. Dogs get treated better. Supervisors are lazy and careless. These children deserve better.
