This was a terrible experience. Yes there were times when a staff member would show us that they cared, but it is all the same abuse and neglect if they are told by all of them. I feel like we were the punching bags the big dogs told their anger out on. I had ripped something in my arms because of the restraints and no one would take me to the hospital or urgent care. They were paid to torcher us and they enjoyed it. I can not tell you how many times they would laugh at us when we were in “hol...

They did not care they are not paid to care they are not held accountable and as I said in the beginning it was a terrible experience.

I went into Harbor Point in 2020 because I needed long term treatment. I was in Harbor Point for 6 months, the staff there were amazing towards me. Ms.Paula, Ms.Maud, and Ms.Stacey were my favorite. They treated me as their own and made my stay 10 times better.(They bought me gifts for my birthday!!) The only people who weren’t that friendly were definitely the nurses who handed out medicine. (Plus the art teacher was dating one of the kids who were about to turn 18)The other children who were in there did make things pretty traumatic though because they would fight and hurt themselves in front of everyone. But it’s pretty much like that in any place you go to like this. We had a pageant show and it made things feel as normal as it could get. The doctor helped me get on medication that was safe for me, he took me off medicine that was bad. My therapist was amazing I’m pretty sure her name is Elizabeth. I got out of there really fast and finished my treatment. It was helpful towards me, it’s now almost 2024 and I’ve been sober from self harm and out of mental hospitals for 4 years!!

Ok I went here a few years ago and it was horrible. I was put in the teen unit (b) during a quarantine period because of COVID (this was a few months after school had opened back up). I was told that treatment was 2-4 months and when I got there it changed to 6-9 months a they kept me 11. Within the first 2 months I was beat up and the staff restrained the kid for 5 min then let him go and he attacked me again. I was then moved to the kids unit (c). There the staff were nicer but I (12-13 at the time). Was with 7-11 year olds. Some of the kids were whiter than cream cheese and dropping n-bombs as punctuation and staff said nothing. Also during the last month of my treatment I broke my wrist( my fault) and was not taken to the hospital for 5 hours. The excuse was the nurses there had to pass out medication to the inmates then file paperwork about the incident. So I was just sitting there my wrist at a grotesque angle and in extreme pain for way to long. Also the theft rate was very high.

It’s been almost a year since I discharged. This place has its flaws, but it gave me a wake up call. It’s not about having fun. I made friends ( some i still talk to), but your main focus is to get better!! I still wouldn’t send my future kids here or apply though. thank you<3 -Raquelle L.

Where do I begin this is the worst facility I’ve ever worked in I witnessed the worst things go on inside the building. The Director Scott Hurt doesn’t know what to do or how to run things he is short on staff so he has the Unit 4 forcing the Residential Counselors to 16-18 hours a day mandatory and drafts that is without a break yes WITHOUT a break a violation to your rights. They are short staffed. People quit and walk out everyday. They are unorganized, not consistent, and they treat the ...

They are unorganized, not consistent, and they treat the kids like animals. There isn’t any TREATMENT taking place they are getting a check from the state and Medicaid. The kids are how they keep the money coming in. It’s is a disaster and I don’t see this place being open in 2026 it won’t last it’ll be all over the news. You never see the program managers once you are on the floor you are forced to after you 8 hour shift. You never get a bathroom break. You are watch 9-12 kids by yourself out of census. They call you on your days off. The kids are being abused by everyone verbally and sometimes physically the staff curses at them, hits them, pinches them… they are not sanitary Covid, rsv, and flu is going around they still don’t care no heat on the units THE KIDS ARE SUFFERING SO THAT GROWN ADULTS CAN RECEIVE A CHECK THE CEO FREDDIE IS HAVING AFFAIRS WITH THE STAFF THE HIGHER UP RARELY SHOW THEIR FACES THE DONT REPORT EVERYTHING IVE WATCHED KIDS GET SLAMMED ON CEMENT IVE WATCHED KIDS BE ABUSED EVERY SINGLE DAY. Do not put your kids here and do not apply here
