While my daughter was here they said I would be able to have 2 visits but never did. When she came home, she was on 5 meds that weren't helping her and she had new troubling behaviors. They then denied her to come back after we had waited another 12 days in the emergency room. They were the only psych hospital that has an autism unit that accepts patients under 12 and my daughter is 11 so even though we weren't thrilled the first time we had no other real options for help. Well thank God they...

My son is currently in here and he comes home tomorrow. None of the staff except for his social worker has given me any information about phone calls. The first week of his stay I was told that he could receive calls from 2-4pm but then when I try to I’m told that he can make calls after dinner but he can’t receive calls. The fact that they are so okay with cutting family out of the kids’s lives makes it horrible for me. I tried to schedule video visits and so did my ex husband and we never r...

I am a 19 year old girl who suffers from depression and anxiety, and was discharged from this facility yesterday. It was the worst thing I have ever been through. I cry as I write this because reliving the trauma of the place is painful. Please do not send your child, spouse, parent, friend, any loved one to this horrible and unsafe facility. The environment is not conducive and not safe. I can tell of multiple traumas I’ve experienced in my week there but one that sticks out to me is my disc...

I went here about two weeks ago for anger management issues and came out literally traumatized in harbor oaks adolescence unit. I had absolutely all my rights stripped from me I was told upon entry that I would be there for about 3 days if I did everything I was supposed to leading up to that I was in there 7 days even tho I did EVERY group session never had a single issue with everyone minded my own business and did all I was told I was supposed to be there for 2 weeks but my mom after multi...

I am so upset and stressed out at the way this facility is handling an incident that took place on 12/22/2023. My son (who is eleven) was jumped by a few other patients while he was sitting in the recreation room (tv room). He never fought back, nor did he say or scream anything vulgar back like these other kids were. He is being heavily medicated and that’s the only reason as to why he didn’t defend himself. He was punched in the stomach and his arm repeatedly until the nurse came running do...

I am writing this review 9 months after my son was last discharged from Harbor Oaks. Well, I certainly believe you will be hard pressed to ever find a five star review for any psychiatric hospital. I can say that the SIPU for kids with autism is by far one of the best around my son over a course of three years had four different stays at Harbor Oaks. If you’re lucky enough to be able to get your kid a bed, it’s definitely the best place for them to be & the staff is great. They communicate wi...

Would give zero stars if possible. About a year ago, my depression was tough and my parents stopped by my house when I was drunk one weekend afternoon (I live alone - no women or children). They're very straight and sober parents. Never really seeing what an average college kid experiences a couple times a week. I stumbled and tripped on myself and fell over, Parents freaked out and called 911 (rolling eyes), but all of a sudden after my hospital stay, I wind up being transferred here against...

The one star would be zero if I could is for Dr Ramen who blatantly disregarded my sons physical reaction to a medication and increased it then rapidly increased another causing him multiple fainting spells. For the facility it self I give a 1 star rating, the unit is dirty tables and floors left sticky the shower so backed up it took hours to drain, the windows lack a view and much needed sunlight, my son also reports the food is awful, he felt worse being there then he did prior to being ad...
