There were 2 good workers there, other than that my fiance got his items stolen and it's almost like a mental hospital in there. Even the nurse told me most people come straight off the street to go in there, most acting crazy and even some in hospital gowns. My fiance stated people were pacing back and forth not giving any sleep, the place smelled like pee and feces. Nothing was clean, the nurse gave an attitude also they don't separate the women and men. IF SOMEONE KNOWS A BETTER PLACE FOR ...

This place was definitely pivotal in my progress to living a clean and sober life. I was there back in June 2021 and let me say with pride I have been clean and have not relapsed. The staff for which I'm very grateful helped me thru some very difficult 6-7 days during my stay. They then had recommended and was able to get me into a 30 day stay rehab in the Poconos which was pretty nice and comfortable, but everyone at Genesis from the gentlemen who had picked me up at my door and drove me the...

This place was definitely pivotal in my progress to living a clean and sober life. I was there back in June 2021 and let me say with pride I have been clean and have not relapsed. The staff for which I'm very grateful helped me thru some very difficult 6-7 days during my stay. They then had recommended and was able to get me into a 30 day stay rehab in the Poconos which was pretty nice and comfortable, but everyone at Genesis from the gentlemen who had picked me up at my door and drove me there while i was at my lowest period in life and basically throwing up the whole ride was very supportive and not judgmental just an overall nice man. i really wish i still remember the names of everyone who helped me along during my time there so i could thank them personally but its been some time and i forgot. anyway regarding the food it was ok but like other people have said it's a detox so what can you really expect but most of the time i just survived on ramens which they had and that did the trick during those rough withdrawal days. Regarding the tv's they did give you some headphones so you didn't hear other peoples tv's. My one definite complaint would be the paper thin mattresses' which were horrible on the back. The place was definitely clean and the housekeepers did a great job. I liked that you had constant access to tea to drink and you were able to help yourself, the food and snacks were kept on a different locked floor but they brought you up there on a regular schedule so you were never kept hungry but again those days I didn't have much of an appetite. So I must say I'm very grateful to everyone at Genesis who was there at the time of my stay because without everyone's concerned commitment to my completion of the initial detox program which was my first step in recovery I would still be "out there".

The place is very clean, even though the beds are in the same room you have privacy curtains and most of the time you’re probably sleeping, the food was pretty decent.(you’re not in a five star restaurant your in a detox lol) and I ate almost a everything they gave us and the snacks are great. I did recommended this place to a friend and she had an amazing experience as well. 5 star center definitely the place to go. There was one staff member who really stood out for me. I can’t remember her name but she is short and Hispanic(she was always with Mrs Val). She was a tough cookie but she was always there for me please thank her from me. Also Mrs Val thank you for everything!!

This was one of the worst detox facilities I've experienced. As I've battled addiction for a number of years, I've been to a few different detox facilities so I feel that I have a good judgement of a well-run detox versus a poorly managed one.
The admission process was a joke. Staff were yelling about it being done the wrong way, staff were yelling about other staff not doing it correctly, etc. When you're being admitted, and some guy is shouting and gesticulating wildly about other staff no...

When you're being admitted, and some guy is shouting and gesticulating wildly about other staff not doing their jobs correctly, it really doesn't inspire confidence that they know what they're doing. Staff shouting about one another in the hallways of a business is unprofessional in any industry.
The layout of the facility is ridiculous. It's a giant hospital bay, where your "room" is just a bed surrounded by a curtain. You know those curtains they have in the E.R.? They use those curtains to separate about 20 "rooms." Each room has a T.V., so you can imagine what it sounds like with 20 different T.V.s playing all different channels, at all hours. You can hear everyone snoring, coughing, wheezing, farting, etc. It's pretty rank.
One time I was woken up by some dude shouting that he was going to down an entire bottle of klonopin and kill himself (there was an issue with his meds and he started bugging out). That's not uncommon to hear in a detox or rehab, people don't come in off of a winning streak, but usually you have a room with a couple roommates, so you don't have to hear what all 20 people are going through.
There is no separation of the sexes, so if you're a women, be prepared to be living next to men, separated by nothing but a curtain which doesn't even fully close around your living quarters. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't feel comfortable with my daughter or mother or any female in my family being housed with alcoholic and addict men like that. Keep in mind that most people are coming in still high as hell.
There is virtually nothing to do. Just like Sean's review, that schedule they have was all fiction, I never saw classes.
I found the staff to be a mixed bunch. Some seemed good, some seemed not so good. Some were flat out trash. One morning, because I didn't wake up on time (my 2nd day in detox, as you can imagine I was pretty rough) they said they were not going to give me the doctor prescribed methadone. I was pretty taken back by that - like come on you know people are dope sick and withdrawing, so you're really trying to withhold meds because someone didn't get out of bed on time on their second day there? That seemed wildly unprofessional. Although they eventually did administer my meds, the nurse had a massive attitude about it. I'm generally a pretty chill guy, I never raised my voice or anything. All she had to do was unlock a cabinet behind her and she made this massive ordeal about it.
I feel like I was inappropriately medicated, as I've never felt so terrible at a detox. I could barely get out of my bed, in my 4 days there, I only made it to 2 meals.
A lot of the staff really didn't seem all that concerned. As soon as I felt well enough, I took a shower and asked for my belongings as I was leaving. The counselor on duty took that personally, which it isn't. He told me "you're not gonna be able to get into another detox" and generally had such a poor attitude. Don't take it personally man, it's nothing about you. I remained polite and calm, there's no point being rude.
If you're fresh off the street or coming in from squatting or a situation like that , then this place won't seem so bad. It definitely seemed like a number of the patients were transient.
***Also, I've noticed a few people leaving 5 star reviews of this place, but they only have 1 or 2 other reviews to their profile. That sometimes is a indication of a fake account / it's not a good look.***

The only reason I give this a two is because I enjoyed the staff. Yes it's hospital beds but if you've been to any other place it's an upgrade. As far as classes go stop lying. You have a schedule out which is just for show. And anyone who says they food is great must have been eating out of dumpsters. All microwaved. 0 vegetables. You can offer sugar free juice upstairs. Wouldn't not re this to anyone. Place was spot clean though

I’ve never been here, but I’m looking for help! Of course I do research before I just decide to nose dive in! It seems there is a common complaint about the “dorm” setting and seems like the staff may be a little uncompromising? I don’t know? One thing I do know is that places like this is intermittent, everyone will have their own personal opinion due to their experience!!
One thing I can say that I like about this place already is that they respond to every comment good or bad! I notice ho...

One thing I can say that I like about this place already is that they respond to every comment good or bad! I notice how each individual is responded with a PERSONAL MESSAGE and not just some template rebuttal..
I’m from Jersey and NEED HELP! If anyone in the comment section has any suggestions, or referrals it would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you very much

There are no bedrooms, just one floor with about 12 hospital beds separated by sheets. There is nothing but water and tea available on the floor for patients. The food is not great and you can’t get a piece of fruit or any real fruit juice anywhere in the building. A few of the staff are amazing, but many have incredibly bad attitudes towards patients who simply ask nicely for information about their treatment/medication/etc. There is no counseling, no therapy, one staff member will tell you ...

A few of the staff are amazing, but many have incredibly bad attitudes towards patients who simply ask nicely for information about their treatment/medication/etc. There is no counseling, no therapy, one staff member will tell you one thing and then the next will dispute it and yell at you for “having an attitude”. They disrespect patients openly in front of other patients. The shower is nice, but there is only one shower for the whole floor to share, and the floor is mixed gendered.
