This facility is horrible. The staff should consider other lines of work. I heard two of them say aloud, they are anxious to get out of this place. They lack the proper temperament to truly help this patient population. This is a prison, not a treatment centre. Their 'rules' are all about control, not treatment. The behaviour patterns displayed by the staff made this apparent. I was told I should take my grievances to the patient advocate, who was conveniently never available. Someone...

This concern is in regards to my family member, an adolescent intake approximately 12:15a on Saturday 2/10, previous stay at Memorial West Hospital 9:00a on Friday 2/9. I have made several attempts to contact someone inside Ft Lauderdale Behavioral Center with my concerns. Prior to being moved to this location, I informed the hospital that my family member does not have insurance and requested a public facility. The hospital attendants stated they would look into this for me and came back to ...

If you care for your loved ones, don’t allow anyone to take them here. This place is deplorable. The waiting room is tiny, mixed with people going through withdrawals, total mental breakdowns, mental illness, aggression, murderous thoughts. The security and the nurses are all cruel, cold, and neglectful. Before I even turn the corner I hear the most hateful comment ever. “Oh gosh you brought in more work for me.” the nurse belted down the hall. The wait is 10 hours to be evaluated to be admit...

My sister was there in treatment for two weeks about a month ago and l left numerous messages for Director Stacy on the 4th floor and Case Manager Flo and both of them never had the common decency and professionalism to return my phone calls. Their attention to follow up with Family members are horrible and deplorable. I wouldn’t recommend this facility to anyone to seek help for a member of their family.

I don't know who she was, but apparently she got fired from what I've heard. 3 years ago I'm being Baker Acted here for 2 days and got out feeling twice as worse than when I had gotten in. Doctors treated patients badly and neglected them. One nurse in particular, who I had forgotten the name of, had strangled a child in the NECK and was convincing patients, thus including children, that they should not be taking their medication prescribed to them and calling them "weak" and "stupid" if they...

We have dealt with mental illness for over 15 years with our daughter and have never had a worse experience than this hospital. Staff were rude and flat out hung up on us. Transferred us with out telling us they were going to. Didn't allow us to talk to anyone for 8 hours. Their phone system and web site is designed to keep you in an endless loop. Place is terrible!!!

Didn't even know they were there. The facility was able to assist my minor child with all of their resources while my child was under their care from psychological, therapeutic to medicinal needs. I was able to speak with my child every day and see them on corresponding visitation days and bring sufficient clothes. They have provided adequate monitoring and feeding and ensured my child ate and slept. The staff were always very friendly and very quick to reach out to me to advise of any im...

One star rating is too much to give for what this place deserves. This place has neglected and failed to provide any medication to my son who arrived under a crisis and who has being there for almost 3rd days now. My son is willing and wants to receive help and medication but according to them medication has not been "approved" yet. This is unthinkable that a patient is under a crisis and no medications are given! this is such a neglect and violation of patient's rights and their families. PL...
