I went to Forest View a couple months ago (maybe longer). Was there about a week. I honestly enjoyed my stay very much. They respected my pronouns and helped me so much. I actually had fun during my time there and met really cool people. Would recommend to anyone going through a hard time as they really helped me mental health and getting me stable.

ANOTHER EDIT: Another day+ later- it is now Sunday 3:18 am and still no response so I'm going to contact them again and ask why no response and tell them that if there is no response I will update my review to indicate that lack of response was 100% insincere and was definitely not from the owner and is a clear indication that their 1 star review is deserved.

EDIT: As you can see in Forest View's canned response to my WELL-DESERVED horrible review, the OWNER told me to contact them. I did go to the page I was told to and filled out the fields and was told someone would contact me shortly. NO RESPONSE.
I AM NOT SURPRISED AT ALL
And this response to my review was from the OWNER! Can you imagine how the place is run if the OWNER tells me he wants to talk to me but blows me off?
I'd also like to add, since I had forgotten to previously that I am honestly am in need of hospitalization and have been for a while now but due to my experience at Forest View, I simply cannot and will not allow myself to walk into ANY building that locks from both sides knowing my life could end up in the hands of people like the people at Forest View who made my life worse. I am TERRIFIED to go ANYWHERE to seek inpatient care.
*****
To sum my traumatic and horrible experience from several years ago, which I am still not emotionally or psychologically over, I will summarize it in one brief conversation with the woman working the front desk in the unit.
Front desk lady: Hey Amy, come here for a second
(I walk over)
I see you are not crying today
Me:
No, I guess not.
Front desk Lady: Want me to make you?
Worst experience ever.
Denied medical treatment for my wounds upon intake
Neglect
Abuse
Ignored
Never saw the doctor I was assigned to
Mocked
When I went to apply for disability I was denied my medical records
Traumatized

My teen daughter had a stay at the hospital. The biggest issue was the food. She is a vegetarian, but she also does not eat soy meat substitutes. My teen daughter had a stay at the hospital. The biggest issue was the food. She is a vegetarian, but she also does not eat soy meat substitutes. The only thing they gave her as an option for most meals was a veggie burger patty. Occasionally they had side salads, and she ate pasta a few times. Over the course of three weeks, she ended up eating saltines for most meals. She called me crying multiple times because she was so hungry. It took almost two weeks before they let her see a nutritionist. Even though it was requested, because she wasn't admitted for an eating disorder, they didn't feel it was necessary until I demanded it.
The nutritionist put in an order for specific meals for her, but then she said the kitchen staff rarely had anything made or told her they "forgot" to make one the ordered meals.
She was already a thin girl and by the time I picked her up, she had lost a significant amount of weight for her size.
No one at the hospital seemed at all worried that she wasn't eating while she was there, because once again since she doesn't have an eating disorder there's nothing to do about it. When I brought it up to doctors, they brushed it of. I asked multiple times about how her mental health and meds would be effected by not eating. They said it would, but did nothing.
Overall, staff was friendly, but I'd often get multiple calls from students asking the same questions, but then nothing from those questions was used for her treatment plan. It seems like they're more interested in the academic study of patients rather than actually treating them.

I wasn't going to leave a review because I'm typically a private person about my mental health. After reading other poorly rated reviews about this medical center, I felt rather compelled to share my experience as a patient there myself.
There seems to be a common theme around this center's unwilling attitude to discharge their patients and lack of communication. I was in a position where my paranoia hadn't gone away after being involuntarily committed to a previous mental facility. So, after a talk with my family, I walked into this facility with an idea that the best thing for me was some sort of more intensive out patient care. I was told that this facilities opinion was that I should sign a voluntary form to be committed. In order to offer me any help, I would have to sign myself in for an inpatient stay. I reluctantly agreed. I knew I needed help, but I truly did not want to be committed to another place after already having been discharged from an involuntary stay. If this was the only way I could truly get help, so be it.
After signing myself for inpatient treatment I was put on ever increasing doses of certain antipsychotic medications. I would say now, after years of reflection and therapy, this stay only harmed my already fragile mental state. I would regularly be given an estimation of how long I'd be committed, only for them to seemingly on a whim declare that I would be staying for another weekend. Then another three days. And so on.
My fiancee and close family members were so concerned and frustrated with these decisions by faculty. My fiance was asked if they could extend my care for medication purposes, to which he declined. He had power of attorney and had already retained a lawyer from my previous stay. The facility informed him that I had been given an assigned lawyer for a court date in order to prevent me from being discharged. Once he informed them that I already had a lawyer, I was then handed a phone to tell him (while under the influence of many sedatives) that the staff told me I had no lawyer so I was given one.
At the time, I was so tired and confused by all the conflicting information. I do however recall specifically telling staff that my fiance had a lawyer for me already. They seemingly ignored my statements as well as my literal power of attorneys statement, and the following morning I was sitting in front of a laptop with a different lawyer representing me. I was then informed that legally I was in the care of this facility until they deemed fit.
My fiance, as well as my actual lawyer, were fuming at this point. They both felt that I was rushed into a legal matter in a very (and I mean very) shady manner. By the time I was finally discharged, I had genuinely been prescribed almost the max dosages of all medications (with the exception of benzos). The paranoia I had initially came in to treat? Sky rocketed. Once I left this facility, I was convinced that every other facility would treat me the same way. I am to this day utterly terrified of being committed anywhere else because of the experience I had here.
If you are reading this as a loved one of someone currently receiving inpatient treatment here, please do not feel like you are overreacting. Your concerns are valid. To those reading that have been the patients, your concerns are equally valid.
Overall, I would highly recommend another facility. And to whoever responds as a representative of this facility, please spare me any generic auto response. Or any response at all for that matter. This was an example of shady ethical practices at best.

Communication with parents during partial program was non-existant. The TEAL program is phenomenal, though.
Have had good experiences with adolescents in inpatient programs here. Much better than the prior experience we had several years ago.
