I had the pleasure of touring the Erlanger Behavioral Health Hospital on Holtzclaw this week. What I saw was a very clean, safe, and well managed hospital with plenty of available medical and administrative staff. This is a wonderful place where people can go to heal with no judgment or stigma. The employees I interacted with were compassionate and nurturing, with a level of training and expertise that gave me confidence that this is the best behavioral treatment option around Chattanooga. The programming and wide array of treatment options are unparalleled for a community of our size. Chattanooga is lucky to have this type of medical facility in our region. Thank you Erlanger Behavioral Health. Very grateful.

The WORST place to go if you need help. I was there involuntarily, power move, but I witnessed and experienced the lowest of the low in treatment and hospitality. The nurses and staff are under qualified and pure evil. They get entertainment and excitement from the patients by abusing and manipulating them. I’ve witnessed firsthand drugging in the drink system and worse along with verbal and mental abuse. The “doctors” are not doctors. They talk to you for a few minutes as protocol but don’t ...

I’ve witnessed firsthand drugging in the drink system and worse along with verbal and mental abuse. The “doctors” are not doctors. They talk to you for a few minutes as protocol but don’t actually assess or treat. I was there for a few weeks without ANY treatment until I filed a report against them. It was only then, in front of the “judge” that they diagnose me and later drug me that day. At the end of my stay and only to discredit me. Alexander and Eller!!!! Side by side units and definitely abusing the system and profiting TOGETHER

My son was discharged today. He told me how much they helped him and if he ever needed more help in the future he would want to go there again. I would for make that 2.5 hour drive again to go back there. Also, they called and kept me updated and were so kind. Thank you for helping my son. Ya'll were a God sent.

Social worker Josh told me I could have been out days ago if I was focused on treatment. I'd been there twice prior to that visit. The treatment program doesn't work for me. I was there to get stable from a manic episode. After I was stable they kept me there for several more days because I told them not to touch my meds anymore because they were working. Eventually I let them mess with my meds so I could be discharged. I saw my psychiatrist a week after discharge and she undid all of the cha...

I was also harassed by other patients.

i keep noticing that a lot of the highest ratings are not from people who were patients here and that one who just took a tour and now it’s a five star??😭i was an actual patient here, in the adolescent unit and it was hell considering we were all there for mental health reasons. the techs behaved more like teenagers then adults, in a way that it was easy to be around them because they were chill and didn’t really act like people in authority. (they were some of the nicest people so no shade just saying for a mental hospital, it’s important to actually be there for patients rather then act like aloof friends) there were 3 nice nurses (and the nurse practitioner) who took the time to listen and tell you what you needed to hear not what u wanted to hear (ms tamara, ms lisa, ms katelyn and the nurse practitioner erin) they knew how to comfort you, guide you without degrading nor completely coddling u unlike the social worker josh and the main doctor Dr. R, they were completely unprofessional on all levels and they need some better or more training because the way they talked to me and others felt like they were just age regressing or like they were in a power trip while talking to us. i was in some conflicts in the place, but literally any or all of the conflicts that took place in between any of us were disregarded, poorly handled and therefore further instigated and worsened due to the lack of training or conflict resolving skills showed by the adults that were supposed to take care of us. there was a lice infestation, a situation between a male patient and a female nurse and she was literally squaring up and making the situation worse by acting like a teenager rather then being a responsible adult and remove herself from the situation. they refused to give my parents information which led my parents having to take me out of here early!! i left with a warm goodbye from some techs but a lot of coldness from the nurses because they didn’t like how disordered i was even though it’s a mental hospital lol. there were plenty of situations like this and that that could’ve been avoided but it’s just safe to say, if you’re mentally struggling please don’t go here!

You said your care and to email but be honest. You can care less. I’ve been trying to reach your records department for a year now. Still no response. WHERES MY MEDICAL RECORDS??? And after reading your latest reviews, nothing has changed. Still monopolizing and neglecting your patients. Class lawsuit is my next move. You know who I am and how to reach me

I was sent here from Madison Alabama hospital. Erlanger put me in the geriatric unit even though I'm in my 30's, since I was deemed "lower risk" and they didn't have a spot for me on the regular floor unless I wanted to spend a night or two on the floor or couch of their intake room. Under false pretension I took the geriatric ward. The patients were still aggressive and out of my comfort zone (nicer ones were touchy feely and talked your head off, I'm autistic so this is a no for me). Also t...

Group therapy sessions would even be an insult to a child. Food was something I wouldn't even feed a dog. They try to lock you out of your room during the day. I saw a patient try to escape by jumping the desk and stealing a badge, I alerted staff and they looked at me like I was an idiot until they realized later that the patient was missing. They alo would not give me my normal and appropriate epilepsy medication! Don't send a loved one to this hell hole, I left in worse shape than I was beginning there!

Rude people who don't care. They set my child in a room doing nothing all day. They seem to only care about ways to make money off of my child, instead of helping her. The guy Josh is the worst, refusing to let us talk to the Dr. (he is the gatekeeper) They only allow you one hour of calls a day and visit 1 hr a week, and they can't even answer the phone during that hour. They don't have enough phones so you rarely get to talk to your child more than a few minutes a day. They want to tra...
