Recently had some neurology testing done at BHM VAMC and it was a great experience. The initial staffer doing my exam "Lisa" was excellent. Pleasant conversation during a exam and the follow on exam by the neurologist was outstanding in my opinion. Parking is always easy and the van schedule and driver were 5/5. Thank you for a great experience.

Worst VA center I have been a part of the only ones who respond to my calls are my primary care out of Sheffield Alabama, I have been trying to get through to community care for the last few weeks to get much needed referrals but when you call and try to speak to community care they never pick up wait times are 45 minutes to an hour and when they pick up they hang up. I have been a part of the VA system and community care in Florida and Washington and by far they were on top of it and no wait...

Fellow vets don't waste your time coming here, do not rely on this hospital for anything. Have never had a good experience, there is always a issue everytime I go, They make things extremely difficult for no reason at all. Your better off going to a civilian hospital and sucking up the expensive bill, but at least you get treated like a paying customer. The VA definitely treats you like a free clinic, with the attitude if you don't like it you can go somewhere else. Wish I could give zero sta...

I have never been so mistreated, humiliated, and embarrassed before in my life. The emergency room and Red Clinic just passed me around like I was garbage before shipping me down the street to the blue clinic. My pain level is above 10. I fell in the restroom and no one helped me get up. Would not even push the wheelchair inside the door. I had to crawl. Getting on the shuttle, they had an argument about if I could travel to the clinic in that wheelchair. I began screaming. Was told to s...

Since the Trump Administration, the VA has done an outstanding job with veterans. I have used this VA for over 15 years and can see the changes they have made to better serve their patients. From labs, to imaging, and even travel pay, they are always ready to serve. Thank you Birmingham VA for your exceptional service every time I have needed you, either in person or over the phone.

Prosthetics dept is the worst seen then take phone off the hook so they don't have to answer, then if you do get through they seem mad because you got through or that the operator has made them pic up.they are disrespectful to the elderly also. Out of the blue they start saying calm down THEN they have the excuse to hang up on you. IVE HAD GREAT CARE AT THE VA TO BAD SOMETHING CANT BE DONE ABOUT CERTAIN DEPARTMENTS ,I ALSO KNOW ABOUT SO MANY OTHERS WHO COMPLAIN ABOUT THAT DEPT FOR THE ...
