Last month my overall stay was just fine, it was very chaotic with certain patients but the staff were super understanding, funny, kind, and patient. The food was pretty good from my experience, the only thing I lost was a single sock of mine there but that was easily replaced. There was an ant infestation, rooms weren't the best, beds were uncomfortable and hurt my back very badly. The shower products and hygiene products were terrible and dried up my hair. But I made friends and I even have...

As a former patient 16 years ago on the adolescent unit, Cedar Springs not only helped me, but set forth a whole career path for me. In 2008 I was a patient of Cedar Springs on the Maple unit after trying to committ suicide. When I left Cedar Springs, I told myself I would one day help people the way they helped me. Now I do. I work in mental health now and help heal people the way I was helped. As someone who works on the back end now, I see how much work goes into this job. It's grueling, p...

It has taken a year to write this. ** Trigger Warning! ** Last christmas, my bf and I were here to check in for alcohol detox. There was another gentleman there who was having a hard time at intake, my bf talked with him and he seemed to calm down. Then my bf was told they did not have a bed for him. I know this is untrue as a mutual friend was in the detox wing and said it was basically empty. I chose to not admit because I would not leave my bf alone, 2.5 hrs from home when he needed assist...

I have been a patient at Cedar Springs two times. Most recently on a 72 hour mental health hold. Given the sheer volume of mental health patients that they have to deal with, I commend both the staff and the overall quality of the facility itself. The food could use a bit of an overhaul and was going to give 4 stars, however the briskett on my last night was outstanding. Thanks for yiur help Ceadr.

Reviews on places like this are often taken with a grain of salt because most people who come to facilities like this are sent involuntarily (I was voluntary.) If I could give this place negative stars I would. This is a long review but it covers points that are important. 1. They are extremely understaffed & the % of staff members who are empathetic & kind is very low. There’s often instability at the expense of the patients. Most of the staff members act like they don’t want to do what they...

I was told to not share my experience but after a phone call I just got from my fiance I'm going to. When I arrived to ponderosa, I was wheeled in on a stretcher in front of everyone (they all told me that didn't happen to them) and the staff looked at me like I was an inconvenience. A male nurse tech did my skin check and told me to take my chest binder off in front of him (I'm ftm). When I refused he got pissed and told me again; when I did he stared at my chest in a very disrespectful way ...

No one ever answers the phone u can call every hour when they finally answer no one wants to give u info even if u fax poa forms. In 4 days I only spoke to patient twice after calling a thousand times!. One time they said they will pass the message to my sister and they gave the number to her roommate. The nurses won’t give an update They discharge patients and don’t call to update u. they say to call back in the morning after 10am. They expect a call from a hospital it was 8pm. U have to wai...

I was very disappointed with the care I got from the staff here for my son. The staff kicked my son out after only one week of treatment and said they are unable to handle his anger behavior. I was given no help finding other facilities my son could have went to, they gave me a 1 day notice to pick my son up, the therapist told me multiple times that she was not going to work hard on getting my my son better since he was not being serious either. So off the bat the staff showed me they didn’t...
