Awhile back, 2 years ago, I was in the adult psych ward here. There was a man who had his rights violated for information (his stay was extended by court beyond 1 month and he wanted to know why), got upset and then was randomly haldol'd even if he wasn't causing trouble. He was extremely allergic, which even he informed the nurse/guards when injecting him in front of us and he ended up dying after he was taken to the ED. We had to beg the staff for help and they refused till it was too late....

I didnt feel he cared about me or my mental health AT ALL. Receptionist was rude. Def do not recommend. No help from this facility whatsoever. Wasted months of my life under their care.

The food was decent at best. Discharges are nonexistent on weekends. Doctors were nice, but could have been more involved. The nurses tried their best to get things done that you needed but you really need to figure out which ones truly are there to help you. My recommendations: *offer a full menu every day and improve food quality. *expand visiting hours *train the nurses to actually be friendlier to patients. *discharges on weekends. *more comfortable beds.

This was my first hospitalization (2013). I had just turned 13 and I was honestly terrified. I was here for 10 days. I made a lot of new friends and I still keep in touch with some of them. Most of the staff was awesome and after the first few days I was okay and comfortable. The food was amazing for hospital food. The groups were very therapeutic to me. The drum circle we did every morning was my favorite. The only reason I won't give it 5 stars was because they had me on a strong antipsycho...

Just a look into the nightmare I experienced here. I was in this facility a couple years ago involuntarily. I had been to 2 adolescent facilities before this one. This is the WORST place I ever went. The nurses were all rude and nasty to all the kids. They had no business working with children with mental health issues. My first day I woke up after sleeping for long hours due to the overdose. I came out of my room and it was “free time” where all the children were allowed outside of the room ...

Incompetence. I have anxiety and insomnia. Been going here for about 3 months. Zero relief. They give me benadryl as if I don't have allergies. Anxiety and insomnia are not new things. We're not talking novel mental illness. They are unwilling to treat me. Never go here if you have a choice.

I feel I need sometime and a med ajustment but wow the reviewz here and Lewis Gale are so frightening. I just don't know what to do now. I was hospitalized in Richmond the Cop that took me made me pee in a bottle in the back of his car. Then the transportation driver that brought me back to Roanoke kept trying to touch on me and took this long dark road while he stroked himself trying to get my attention. I went to the Police Station ti report both and nothing was ever done. In fact i was har...
