This place has left me with permanent trauma as an adult. I was undiagnosed with autism at the time and they brought my parents in and forced them to be non responsive while I cried and begged to understand what was happening. Im now 24 years old and was 15 when this happened. To this day I never understood the point of making both of my parents sit and watch me plead them to respond to me, asking what was going on. All that came from it is distrust still prominent in our relationship. It sev...

I was admitted here 4/24/24 because the school said I need to be here. all the reviews are mainly terrible but I had a decent time. I was admitted for suicidal plans but what I really wanted to get help with there was higher self esteem and even when I told them that's what i hoped to accomplish there I never got that >:( After a while though I wasn't having alot of thoughts of dying, just going home. I still had SH thoughts but I haven't in a while so making progress :) anyway I did not li...

Communication here between what is happening with your child and parents is fickle. Five days and not one phone call from a doctor, even though it was guaranteed on the intake call that the FIRST time a doctor was seen, I would get a call. I had to call back everyday and several times a day just to second and sometimes third handedly get health information or even a discharge date. Always one excuse after the other for why I couldn't get a hold of a doctor. Then a nurse I talked to confirmed ...

I was hoping aurora would be my turning point. I must say I was there for quite a long time and only granted leaving due to over crowded spaces. My former friend in the place left due to having a contagious sickness, the cold. They kicked her out despite her feelings of suicidal intent. A few nurses truly cared. Many others over shadowed this by many hurtful beings. The final position i have after leaving, I'd rather die (as in a fully committed suicide) than return. I will never go back. I'l...

When I went there today 4/18/24 they where talking about another patient and how his suicidal thoughts were funny and did not get us the help they need and try to get your kid to say u abuse them. Do not recommend, worst place to go to now. When I went they were serious now just a big joke

This place is the worst thing that happened to me and my family, when I was inpatient they almost made me stay an extra 2 days because the lack of communication between the doctors, now I’m outpatient and it’s the WORST they made me understand that I can’t talk about my feelings, and I had one sick day and now I have to be here for an extra week. THEY MADE ME WORST. The staff are VERY VERY rude, they ignore you with an attitude and do simple requests, I ask over 15 times in the span of 2 da...

The nurses on Unit 2 are exceptional (especially Carla, Keisha, Lace, Meghan and Dorinda) The dining room (Diane, and Melinda) staff is amazing! Some of the techs are very kind, others are RUDE and very bias. Overall, this is one of the better places to go in a crisis. Dr. Nwaigwe is very caring and compassionate with her patients!

Just ask to see if your kid can be sent somewhere else especially if they only have had most bad reviews that are similar , negative, and have a total rating of less than 3 stars. That’s a red flag I ignored and should not have as a parent. Don’t be me.
