ACED traumatized me more than i was already traumatized before starting treatment. the staff harassed me after hours. my therapist, who was a member of the staff, sent absolutely INSANE things to me via text, while claiming she had her “sobriety” the messages below don’t really reflect that and i know she still works there. it’s been years since this has happened and i’m finally ready to talk about it. this place should be shut down. they care more about the staff than the patients. SERIOUSLY DON’T WASTE TIME HERE!!! please go somewhere that can actually help you. i am since in recovery, but this place nearly COST ME MY LIFE!!!!! they aren’t even worth the one star. EXCEPT the nurses. they are all absolutely amazing and want to see you succeed. as for the rest of them, I SHOULD’VE SUED.

I didn’t leave ACED on good terms, and they weren’t even vaguely helpful with attempting medication continuity, but this was actually the best treatment center I’ve been to, to date, and definitely opened me up to the work I needed to be doing in individual therapy. I do not regret a single second spent there and often fall back on my meal plans from ACED when life starts getting overwhelming again. For me it was a life changing experience, despite not finishing the program. Would be 5 stars ...

I do not regret a single second spent there and often fall back on my meal plans from ACED when life starts getting overwhelming again. For me it was a life changing experience, despite not finishing the program. Would be 5 stars if they had returned any of my phone calls regarding med continuity instead of leaving me entirely to the mercy of the psychiatrist I hadn’t seen in 10+ years. I was on Effexor, and that is gnarly to withdraw from.

They are uncomfortable dealing with issues regarding people of color. They hold the staff’s feelings to a higher regard than the emotions and stressors of the patients. They go directly against the doctor’s recommendations where it suits them. Please be weary when sending your loved one here if you believe inclusivity is a factor in healing.

If I could give negative stars, I absolutely would. Michelle is a ball of nothing but rudeness, disrespect and negativity. I would absolutely stay as far away from this place as possible.

There is not a more caring or experienced staff treating eating disorders in the U.S. Cannot say enough good things about A Center for Eating Disorders.
